Black Tooth Grinn is from Sydney NS, a town known as much for the remnants of industrial exploitation as it is for a deep culture of music. This influences drives them to push a little harder to shine through the smoke and fog. Playing to sellout crowds in Cape Breton, the band has perfected a unique sound that modernizes the old town New Orleans blues aesthetic with the huge guitars of classic rock. Black Tooth Grinn has just released their debut album "Self Titled" in January 2014. The eight song album is a perfect introduction to the band, folk tales at heart that feel dangerous to your ears. The band will follow up with their acoustic album "Ruthless and Toothless" in February 2014 as well as a brand new EP recorded by ECMA award winning producer Jamie Foulds (Gordie Sampson) in the Spring. The band has been covered locally by CBC Radio One, the Cape Breton Post, WhatsGoinOn.ca, and CBU's Caper Radio, while regionally they are gaining notice on campus and community radio across the Maritimes.
