Blackwood Quartet/Singers

Dear Friend:

Since 1946, I have had a close association with the famed Blackwoods. James, R.W., Roy, Doyle and Cecil have been friends, mentors and role models. Everything I ever learned about singing, I learned from R.W. Now his songs, R.W. Jr, and Ron are carrying on the Blackwood tradition of the finest in Gospel music.

Several weeks ago, the Blackwoods were our special guests for our annual Homecoming. They literally poured themselves into minisry of that day. Our nearly 4,000 attendees and special guests were delighted with these good friends, as was I!

The Blackwoods have an open door invitation to First Assembly. I am honored to have them as friends and co-laborers. I recommend them with all my heart.

Dear Ron:

What a wonderful series of performances you blessed us with in good “ole” South Texas! We have heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests. They were especially happy to hear that you will be with us once again next year.

We know that with the newspaper ad and radio spots, there were a lot of folks at our parks just to see and hear you that might never have come in to see us at all. With just a short time (less than two weeks) we were able to sell 1107 tickets. Just think what will happen next year with all of the preparation time that we have available to us. It is our desire to book you at some of our other properties in Texas also……..

Dear Ron:

I am writing to give you a follow-up from Wahabi Shriner’s fund raiser March 14th featuring “The Blackwoods.”

We got the idea of having your group perform from one of our members who saw your show in the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN. He reported how professional you were, how entertaining the show was and that it was presented as family entertainment. This was very desirable to us as we seek to bring non Shriners and their families into our facility to promote the Shrine.

The help you and your management team gave us in promoting the show and selling the tickets was invaluable. We followed your advice explicitly and I would like to give you the results. We created a program book to give each person at the show and were able to sell 98 ads. If we had started our ad campaign sooner, we could have sold many more ads, but we were very satisfied with what we accomplished. We pre-sold our tickets through ticket outlets and various clubs and units within our membership.

Not only was “The Blackwoods” show a financial success, it was also a great public relations success. Our name, “SHRINERS” and what we do was publicized on radio, TV and in newspapers.

After the show, we had many positive comments about how great it was and how they thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

I would like to thank you and your wonderful group for performing here, for your professionalism and for your expertise in making our fund raiser a success.

We hope to be able to make “The Blackwoods” an annual event in Jackson, MS. May God bless you and all the members of your group.

I just want to send a note of thanks for coming to be a part of our “Mortgage Burning” Celebration. You being here was like ice cream being added to apple pie. It just gives the finishing touch to make it great.

I want to convey to you how much we enjoyed the excellent quality of music, the spirit and emphasis given to ministry, as well as presenting a great gospel concert. The people from our congregation as well as many guests for the services thoroughly enjoyed the rich anointing of the Lord in the services.

Dear Ron:

This letter of thanks and commendation is easy to write! On behalf of Suncoast Cathedral, thank you for an outstanding concert that ministered to so many people from the church and the community. We are still having guests visit our services as a result of that evening.

The Blackwood Brothers and the Blackwood Singing Group are fare more than just skilled and gifted singers and musicians.
