Bio

The original idea behind the band dates back from Fall 2006. Ped and Louis were in a Mötley Crüe cover band who was going nowhere, so they decide to quit this project to begin a new one. The new project was simple: play rock/metal songs everyone knows. With that in mind, they started to rehearse classic rock/metal songs and seaching for a drummer and a singer. Early 2007, they found their first drummer, Dan. In the Spring, came the singer and a rhytm guitarist, Stef and Jo. The band (who was unnamed by that time) remained in that form for about 3 months but, as the time and the rehearsals gone by, we realized we had problems with the majority of the songs, problems which were connected to the drums. After discussions, we decided to fired Dan and hired a new drummer, Dimitri. By that time, Louis proposed ''Blades of Steel'' as the band name. Why Blades of Steel? 'Cause we're Hockey fans and the Blades of Steel video game was the coolest hockey video game ever! And most of the songs we play are from the 80's, just like the game. Dimitri stay with us for about 2 months before he decides to pursue other projects. The search for a new drummer was short. Luc came in 2 weeks later. After 3 rehearsals missed, we fired him (that begins to look like the history of Spinal Tap, isn't it). Ben came in late 2007. Finally some stability with our drummer. Ben is still with us since then and we hope it remains that way for a long time. In the spring of 2008, Jo (rhytm guitar) decides to leave so Stef took charge of the rhytm guitar duty. So, now that we overcame all the difficulties and carried out the necessary changes, Blades of Steel are now ready to go out there to do what we do best: Play the best rock and metal songs ever written.
