Bio

With his debut album "Burning Down Religion" Blair Harvey took his self-proclaimed evil gospel across Canada stopping off to showcase his music at such celebrated events as “StanFest” in Nova Scotia, “The World Folk Alliance” in Montreal and “The Southern Shore Shamrock Festival” in his hometown of Ferryland, NL.

In 2005 the Newfoundland based singer-songwriter was nominated for two Music Industry Association awards - Country Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. Later that year Harvey showcased at the highly acclaimed “Imagine Festival” in Ireland to rave reviews.

2006 saw Blair tour Western Canada with former “I Mother Earth” front man Brian Byrne in support of his debut solo effort. That was followed by a return to Ireland to showcase at “The Working Class Hero Festival” where once again he was a huge hit. Later that year his second CD entitled “GutterBeGutted” was released on December 21st. The CD was produced by Mark Bragg, features 15 original Blair Harvey tunes and was launched in Halifax at The Seahorse Tavern on February 15 to coincide with The East Coast Music Awards. During ECMA Harvey was invited to showcase on “The Mainstage” presented by Warner Music Canada and CBC Galaxie and the first single from the new album, “Nancy Lost Her Baby” was featured as the first track on the ECMA Sneak Peak Rising Star compilation CD. Also the track “Sweet Sins” was featured on the ECMA Rock compilation CD.

Following ECMA Blair travelled to Memphis, Tennessee to showcase on the prestigious Performance Alley stage at the North American Folk Alliance. Once again a track from his latest CD was featured on that conferences compilation recording. From Memphis, Blair travelled to Toronto to participate and showcase at Canadian Music Week. While at CMW he played several shows including an industry showcase at The Gibson Lounge.

The second track on the album, "I'll Drink To That" recently reached #2 on the East Coast Countdown where it stayed for two weeks and in the top ten for seven weeks. Future plans for Blair Harvey include shows in England in late fall followed by a Western Canada tour and selected dates in The Untied States. Blair won the Molson pop/rock album of the year and was nominated in five other categories at the MIA awards in October 2007. He plans to travel to Nashville in the fall to co write with David Francy at the blue room for their annual song writing conference
