"Local acts perform at the London Music Club"

The show began with Blair Miske and the Goods, a three piece that is reminiscent of late 90s Weezer mixed with a more instrumental White Stripes. At their lightest they sound almost like the punk or pop of the post-grunge 90s and at their heaviest they have the classic rock sound of the bands from the early noughts. - Our London

"Blair Miskie and The Goods"

The structure, melody, and theory behind their songs make them a great listen for anyone who has ever wondered what else can be done to Rock and Roll. - Goderich Signal Star

"Branching Out"

Their five-track EP has started getting airplay in Europe and Australia with the catchy, punky song Manic Depressant leading the way. - The Londoner

"Not My Cup of Tea"

Blair Miskie and the Goods performed a sleek, catchy set of all original tunes. Front man Miskie fostered great rapport with the audience, pairing Buddy Holly's endearing awkwardness with mature rock sensibility. This guy really knows how to write a hook. And his lyrics! The Goods delivered the goods, featuring technical but bluesy keys solos, Motown breakdowns and great chemistry overall. I'll be sure to pick up the band's new EP "Events Soon Forgotten." - Cornelius Poindexter

"Interview with Blair Miskie and The Goods on The Bull Pit"

John Dissed of The Bull Pit in L.A. provides an inside look at Blair Miskie and The Goods (Episode 90, 2:04-28:20).

Grab a sneak peak of new material, where the name "The Goods" came from, future plans for the band, and find out the meaning behind songs on the "Events Soon Forgotten" EP. - The Bull Pit

"Clinton native launches first CD"

Miskie gets his inspiration from everyday experiences. The song 'Another Room' for example, is written from the perspective of a 43 year old automotive plant employee following the General Motors' plant closures. That song has since been adopted as the Calgary Flames' official theme song for their fan blog. - Clinton News Record

"Silver Starling shines in album release show"

The opener, local band Bread Envy, drew people up to the stage from where they were scattered around the bar. Playing for only a handful of people might seem nerve-wracking, but they gave a seamless performance and their funk-inspired pop-rock sound got the crowd going despite the turnout. - The Western Gazette

"Bread Envy @ London Music Club (Feb. 11, 2010)"

"As soon as they started playing, it became clear how they won London's 'Break Your Band' contest. What really struck me about Bread Envy (a name they hope to replace by the time they head to the recording studio in two days's time) was their competence. These are a group of guys who each know exactly what they're doing. Each member is an unquestionably talented musician, and everything they do on stage seems effortless." - Death By Hippopotamus

It’s been a five-month-long competition for Bread Envy, a pop-rock band representing London at the national level of Supernova’s “Break Your Band” contest. “We began competing in the preliminary rounds in early November at the London Music Hall,” Miskie says. “Over 100 bands from London and the surrounding area competed in a series of opening rounds while the winners advanced to the regional finals in January.” Next, they beat out 15 other bands in order to represent London in the national round — now they are one of 12 bands from across the country competing for the final prize. - The Western Gazette

Few bands can say they have reached these heights with only the release of their debut EP.
Blair Miskie and The Goods is a band that firmly believes persistence pays off...

The initial line up emerged about three years ago with front man, Blair Miskie and bassist, James Beaver who began playing together from the beginning of University. Forming a band with fellow peers, they donned the name “Bread Envy” and soon established themselves throughout London; placing among the Top 5 upcoming acts in Canada after representing the city in a national battle of the bands. With demand for a record and winnings in hand, the group headed for the studio to produce their debut EP, “Events Soon Forgotten,” under the name “Blair Miskie and The Goods.”

Their CD was released in June of 2010 and took to the airwaves, receiving local coverage on CBC Radio 93.5, London's Best Rock FM96, The Beach 104.9, CHRW 94.9 and ‘A’ Channel News. Shortly after, their music hit the international market with CD and online sales in Europe and the United States, as well as airplay in Poland, England, Germany, Australia and California.

The end of University marked a turning point for the band with members pursuing other avenues, however, the bond between Miskie and Beaver remained strong as they sought out a new drummer and lead guitarist. With change came strength and an all star lineup! The addition of Ian Morris (certified drummer of the ‘Drummer’s Collective’ in New York and son of Ken Morris who worked with Rush and Terry Brown) and Matt Shelvock (Nashville session musician and former lead guitarist for ‘Lighthouse’ drummer, Skip Prokop) united the band’s tight and energetic live show.

The band’s unique blend of 60's rock and modern indie rock reflects Miskie’s roots. Having been raised in a house of 60’s rock music, his songwriting combines the modern styles of today’s youth with the sonic identity of the baby boomer generation in his own unique way that provides familiarity to the group’s wide audience. Blair Miskie and The Goods’ songs reflect influences ranging from Squeeze and Buddy Holly to Weezer, while “the structure, melody, and theory behind their songs make them a great listen for anyone who has ever wondered what else can be done to rock and roll” (Goderich Signal-Star, Gerard Creces).

The buzz is only beginning...
