Belizean reggae-dancehall singer Blakberry has a new music video called Rent A Friend. But while the song is nice, what makes the video special is what director Linda Blease shot it with.

In mid-April we told you about the Belize Music and Entertainment Industry Development Initiative. It focuses on addressing myriad issues crippling Belize’s music industry. During the 1st phase – stakeholders met and compiled a list of issues with business management at the top of the list. But among the major setbacks is the subpar quality of music produced in Belize. Today, producers, promoters and other key players in the industry such as Andazi, Jackie Castillo & BlakBerry met at the House of Culture to further engage artists in this musical movement. One of the coordinators discussed the opportunities available for Belizean artists to advance their musical career and the overall vision for the initiative. - Channel 7 Belize
Local reggae artist BlakBerry is one of the most determined and focused artists on the local scene. And now he's hoping that a slick new music video put together by a high profile Jamaican director will get him some much deserved attention. BLAK SPENDS MOST OF HIS FREE TIME CREATING AND LISTENING TO MUSIC, WHISLT OBSERVING EVERY ASPECT OF MOTHER NATURE. BLAKBERRY HAVE GREAT JOY IN HELPING PEOPLE MOVING FORWARD, VERY DEDICATED TO WHATEVER IS AT INTREST. NON- RELIGIOUS AND YET HAVE AN EAR TO LISTEN TO ANYMAN.
SINCE MAY OF 2010 HE STARTED MAKING MUSIC FOR RADIO AIRPLAY AND WAS QUICKLY NOTICED AND ACCEPTED BY THE PUBLIC FOR THE HIT SONGS HE HAS AND WAS GIVEN THE TITLE OF “BELIZE’S FASTEST UPRISING ARTIST”. HE HAS DONE QUITE A NUMBER OF SHOWS SINCE NOTICED, INCLUDING INTRODUCTIONS FOR TOP JAMAICAN ARTISTS SUCH AS BABY CHAM, KONCHENS, ROMAIN VIRGO, CHARLIE BLACK, GAZA KYM, CHRIS MARTIN, MR PERFECT AND MANY MORE INCLUSIVE OF A “ONE ON ONE” AND INTRODUCTION FOR PLATINUM RECORDING ARTIST “OMARION”.
HE HOPES TO BE MUCH MORE EXPANDED IN MUSIC AND EDUCATION, IN THAT WAY HE CAN REACH THE POPULATION ON A GREATER SCALE.
