Blake Whitworth

Some discover their passion early in life, as if it is woven into their soul. For others, their passion is stumbled upon later in life. Blake Whitworth stumbled onto his musical journey and has never looked back. Raised in Lavonia, Georgia, where no one is a stranger, Whitworth first tried music at the age of five. Guitar lessons proved to be hard for Blake and he left music. It was later at the age of fourteen that a Metallica song resurfaced Blake’s love for the guitar, singing and music.

Influenced by artists such as Coldplay, the Dave Matthew’s Band, Metallica and James Taylor, Blake fuses musical styles into a sound of his own. “I am eclectic with my music. I never set parameters because at the end of the day, all music is relative,” says Blake. Leaving Lavonia, Blake moved to Nashville to place himself in the heart of the musical world. His self-written songs are emotionally energetic while hold an honest sense of vulnerability.

Blake is continuing to grow as an artist. He has worked as a session guitarist for Grammy nominated songwriter Jayne Olderman, and Billboard-charted artist Tiffany Milagro. He also performs at various venues throughout Nashville, including Rocketown, Christoper’s Pizza, Loudhouse Café, and the Blue Bird Café. Blake is excited to watch his music grow. Currently, he is working on an EP to be released in December. “Music holds so much emotion. A song can inspire marriages, break ups, even riots. I am mesmerized by it.” Blake’s love for music, combined with his boy next door charm, finds a place in the musical world where one can ease into his honest stories with a sense of familiarity.
