Smash Summer Tour Leaves Fans Ready to Eat Up the Debut CD Release
Syosset, NY - Blameshift, Long Island’s newest high-energy rock band, set the east coast on fire this August from Allston MA. to Nashville TN., introducing fans to their innovative blend of metal/hardcore/punk/new-age rock, featuring dual male/female lead vocals. The band gave away sample tracks from their September debut CD release Drop Down (2005, Can’t Stop Records), to packed venues, creating a mammoth fan list in anticipation of the nine track release. “I’m so glad the release date is finally here”, said Dan Leto, Blameshift lead guitar player, “It was hard to have fans begging to buy the CD and have to tell them that we didn’t have it yet.” Fans eagerly bought Blameshift T-Shirts and merchandise at every show. Soaring pre-sales of the CD have the band already considering a second pressing.

The highly anticipated release derives its themes from our many life addictions: lust, money, drugs,
love and war.“Drop Down is like a hard rock kiss on the cheek, followed by a punch to the
mouth”(2005, Can’t Stop Records). The disc opens with the explosive title track “Drop Down”,
featuring a huge dose of hard rock driving guitars. The radio friendly, “From Here on In”, is role
played by dueling male/female vocals, poising the tragic story of a relationship broken by heroin.
The head nodding “Next In Line” conveys the band’s ongoing battle with the corporate world vs. the struggling artist. Other tracks include: Sanctuary; Love/Misery; Royal Life; The McGuire Incident; Picture of a Person; Haunted Dreams.

Drop Down was self-recorded in Blameshift’s newly built Pro-Tools studio. “We’ve decided to build our sound from the ground up”, says James Miller Drummer/Engineer Blameshift. “As we grow as people and as artists, we expect our sound will grow as well. Building our own studio gives us the freedom to produce the music that will come from that growth.” The band’s previous EP was recorded in a high-end commercial multi-million dollar studio. “We found that they just weren’t able to capture the raw spirit of the band. That’s what our fans expect from us”, says Tim Barbour male lead vocal/guitar/songwriter Blameshift.

The Blameshift 2005 Summer Tour filled venues such as The Continental, NYC, The Nanci Raygun, Richmond VA and The Hard Rock Café, Nashville, TN, blazing a trail that developed a passionate and loyal street team down the east coast. The band toured along side RockRidge recording artist Domeshots, from Oakland CA. “I think it was a great mix of music”, said Jenny Mann, female lead vocal/songwriter for Blameshift. “Domeshot’s fans really seem to get us and I think our fans were really into their music too”. Look for a Blameshift/Domeshot tour reunion Spring 2006. In the meantime, Blameshift will be back on a second east coast tour this winter.

Drop Down is available through FYE www.stretchtheskies.com/blameshift, selected stores and by mail order for $7.99 +$2.99 S&H to: Can’t Stop Records P.O. Box 88 Syosset, NY 11791.

BLAMESHIFT
BLAMESHIFT
SELF-RELEASED CD
Blameshift is a Long Island hard rock quintet that employs the dual female-male vocal delivery a la that hit song by Evanescence. On the band's three-song release, you'll find mid-tempo, radio friendly hard rock that sounds like No Doubt meeting Godsmack at a Linkin Park show. While the vocal trade off gives Blameshift a theatric quality, the band's deep rooted hard rock gives Blameshift the ability to reach countless youngsters looking for an outlet to let off some steam without insulting their intelligence. www.blameshiftmusic.com

"FYE PRESS RELEASE"

Web Review by © Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck - http://www.muzikreviews.com
December 17, 2005

Blameshift is hitting the ground running and already their killer new album Drop Down is in the Top 10 FYE Indie Charts. I like to call music like this beautiful noise, because it creates all sorts if imagery, both sides of the coin from the book of life if you will.

This is definitely not music for the faint of heart; it snarls, spits, then scratches and claws its way into your soul. Like it or not, it is effective and it grabs you. What made this entire CD so enjoyable for me was the give and take of Tim Barbour’s and Jenny Mann’s vocals, playing off each other as a tag team rock ‘n’ roll machine. This is all built on the chunky, heavy-duty guitar riffs of Dan Leto and some powerhouse bass (now played by Dave Kaplan, who joined the band after the album was recorded). James Miller holds up the bottom end with some vicious skin pounding, which makes for a non-stop pure raw energy that really digs in and gets some traction. Let me just say that this is not a leisurely walk in the park. It is more like walking through a dark back alley in the city wondering what is going to pop out from around a corner; the anticipation and excitement never lets up. If you like that living-on-the-edge excitement, this CD could provide that feeling and atmosphere easily.

So what do you like? If it’s metal, punk, rock, even some rap thrown in here and there, and if you happen to like it all, Blameshift is your ticket to a listening orgasm. The opening and title cut starts off with a voice saying “Honey I got news for you…” then a jagged edged guitar and thumping bass comes in as Jenny Mann starts singing in her sweet sexy voice. Every track has tremendous energy showing different facets and evolutions of the band. “From Here On In” features a rip tide of instruments all at once, and it shows how the band can rock straight out and slow down and provide some tasteful licks, particularly on guitar. These are just two examples of an ongoing force of authority and vigor that prevails throughout this album. This band has a mass appeal that will more than likely find them national recognition in a short period.

"GOOD TIMES REVIEW"

With the torch for heavy metal tight in their grip, Island rock machine Blameshift has arrived with a new slate of deafening rebel anthems.
This is full-contact, guitar driven hard rock. For the opening double-time guitar scratch of the title track, Blameshift come out with barrels blazing and the ferocity meter running deep into the red zone. The songs center on the theme of addictions, including lust, money, drugs, love and war. THe music draws influences from every era of the metal genre, mixing old and new stlyes to create a sound that is sure to appeal to headbangers of all ages.
Written, recorded and producted by the band, Drop Down is ball-to-the-wall aggressive and uncompromising. If you're looking for love songs and ballads, you've come to the wrong place.
With Dorp Down, Blameshift draws a line in the rock n' roll sand. As long as the band sticks to their guns, we'll continue to expect great things from them.
