"Blameshift very well may be the hottest unit to hail from the region at the time these words are being written."
- Goodtimes
“This band has a mass appeal that will find them national recognition in a short period.”
-(f.y.e.) - Keith
After four years of handling everything, including an album and 10 national tours, on its own, the Syosset band has grown too big to remain self-contained.
"We've been on our own for such a long time," singer Jenny Mann says. "We've had a lot of offers in the last four years, but our idea was always to do it and survive. But we've grown to the point now where we just can't handle it all any more."
The band - Mann, guitarist-vocalist Tim Barbour, bassist Joe Meyer and drummer James Miller - just got back from The Summer De-Tour in mid-August and is set to head out again Friday with The Material for another tour.
"We haven't even had time to work on new merch or work out anything special for the Crazy Donkey show yet," says Mann, adding that the band will come up with something for the increasingly rare Long Island appearance.
Those moments have helped Blameshift realize that it may be time to take one of the many offers from managers and record labels - both major and indie - that have been coming their way, as many look to strong, female-fronted bands for the next Paramore. It's a list that has only grown after people get to hear the six new songs the band recorded earlier this year with producer Mike Watts in Freeport.
"We're coming into our sound in a way," Mann says. "It's a lot more pop than we have ever done. That's just where we're going. I love it. It's a little more straightforward."
Blameshift plays The Crazy Donkey, 1058 Rte. 110, Farmingdale, 631-753-1975, doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets are $12 through thecrazydonkey.com. - Glenn Gamboa

Bio
The four members of Blameshift have been blazing their independent path across the nation over the better part of 5 years. During that time the band could easily have taught a collegiate level course on band survival. With a high powered list of sponsors, their music as a full time job and a tour bus, (a literal bus), powered by vegetable oil, the band headed across the country to Los Angeles in 2010 to record with Erik Ron, (VersaEmerge, Good Charlotte, Panic at the Disco). What resulted was the full commercially driven sound that Blameshift has been envisioning since their inception. Collectively, the quartet has logged close to 500 shows in their young lives, including many dates the past years on the Vans Warped Tour 11 independently booked national tours and 2 years playing SXSW.
