Formed in 2003, BlankBlueSky combines individual inspiration together and shoves the result into musical noise. Based in life and supported by life, BlankBlueSky lives to play live. They spend their time playing at local clubs, festivals and music houses working on building a following around their home town. To BBS it doesn't matter if there are 2 people or a couple hundred in the crowd, they still put their everything into the show ... making their belief evident that it is all about the music.
Just recently they completed their second EP, Acting Surrounded. This disc is extremely personal and integral to their new sound. Along with the fact that the songs are written directly out of their lives, the band had complete control over the artistic process, from start to finish and did all the recording themselves.
Right now the band is looking for ways that they can make an improvement within the world, while they write and play music. They want their shows to be more than just shows. So far this has translated into action through being enviromentally aware during the music process and at shows. Being enviromentally aware has become a very popular undertaking by many people, and BBS knows that there are still things that they could be doing better, but they also understand that the littlest change can start a big difference ... bringing your own waterbottle to a show for example ... and ... BBS has packaged their new EP in a recycled brown paper bag, and they make all of their own merch from recycled clothing.
BBS is constantly improving their music by combining all that musical noise with their individual experiences to create a better sound and ultimately provide a better live performance. Listen.
