Bio

Blank Manuskript released their first album “Tales from an Island – Impressions from Rapa Nui” in the beginning of 2009, which was immediately followed by a live presentation in the ambience of a classical music hall with the support of many guest musicians live on stage. The concept album is centred on the history of the legendary Easter Island in the South Pacific. The story reaches from the beginning of the settlement right through the great war of the tribes followed by the cult of Birdman and ends in a tragic love-story. The numerous positive reviews of the press helped Blank Manuskript to gain international reputation and soon the Finnish Progressive Rock-agency “Colossus Projects” came to draw attention to the mystical Austrian project. Blank Manuskript was invited to work on several projects including Dante’s Divinia Comedia Part II - Purgatorio, Rökstenen - A tribute to Swedish Progressive Rock of the 70's, Dante’s Divinia Comedia Part III – Paradiso and The Tales of Edgar Allan Poe. Those collaborative concept albums are distributed by the French Progressive Rock-label “Musea Records” and widened the range of international attention towards Blank Manuskript. Alongside this active studio-work, the band had several concerts, which were always well-received and helped the band to develop their sound and style on stage. In the summer of 2009 Blank Manuskript played a concert at the famous Baltic ProgFest in Lithuania.

In February 2011, the recording-sessions for their follow-up-album commenced, which should serve as a documentation of the current concert-activities of the band rather than offer an elaborate concept within. It will be a mix of rearranged compositions from the debut-album and new material. On the side, a new epic concept-album is already in the planning process with the release date of early 2012

The lineup for the first concert-phase from 2010 to the beginning of 2012 consisted of Alfons Wohlmuth (Bass, Vocals), Dominik Wallner (Keys, Vocals), Jakob Aistleitner (Vocals, Electric Guitar, Saxophone) and Camillo Mainque Jenny (Drums & Percussion).

After the departure of Jakob Aistleitner and Camillo Mainque Jenny, Blank Manuskript was completely reformed at the beginning of 2012. The current live-band consists of Alfons Wohlmuth (Electric Bass, Chapman Stick, Flute, Vocals), Dominik Wallner (Piano, Organ, Synthesizer, Vocals), Cecilio Perera (Guitars) and Klaus Ackermann (Drums, Vocals). Also the concerts will now be enhanced with concept-videos throughout the concert, which is managed by the visial artist Matthias Gruber.
