Bio

“I've just discovered your music and I love what I hear!”
- Ruth Barnes (BBC6 music, Resonance FM)

"The electronic indie pop by Blatnova establishes a magical biotope where '50s optimism, functionalism, UFOs, sixties design, SF and ecology can peacefully live next to each other. This is a complete recipe. The ingredients Blatnova uses to cook make a weird alchemy: while you're listening you will discover a little door in the speakers of your soundsystem. You pass and enter a new universe."
- Didi de Paris (Gonzo Circus musicmag)

"Blatnova composes and performs music that is atmospheric, deep and beautiful"
- Tim Clark (formerly Island Records, ie:music)

BLATNOVA is music by Jobina Tinnemans. Filmish and atmospherical electronic music, a 100% one lady indie production. She uses vintage Hammond organs, crummy electronics, a violin bass plus vocals. Live, two loopstations sparkle out wild beats, an imaginary belgian violinist and some coastal birds.

She has released a live session album 'Live Like', with 8 new tracks, and plans for a studio album release of these and more new songs later. Her debut album was very small scale released end of 2002, positively picked up by OOR musicmag, and slowly but steadily made it's way through the indie music scene in Belgium, Netherlands and UK. She's been performing live, works in the sonic and visual arts and produced the sonic comic 'DR.NAUT' since. She is in contact with BBC3 Radio for a second radiophonic production.

Tim Clark (formerly managing director of Island Records, ie:music), 'BBC Introducing' and Ruth Barnes, Resonance Fm, have expressed interest recently.

further reviews:

"her music is all atmospherical and so estranging it sticks with you. (...) For anyone who likes suspense, this is an exciting CD." - OOR music mag about her debut album

" hypnotic melodies, estranged and deformed sounds, tight layers of beats. (...)More contemporary Floyd as in "Voie Expresse Rive Montparnasse" you probably won't get and the drum&beat in "Lunapark" annoy pleasantly your senses. Remarkable talent. Very good."
- File Under on debut album (blog)

I found it fantastic, thanks so much" , "I am excited for her breakthrough"
