“I don’t make beatz, I make hits!”
From rapping freestyles over a makeshift studio set in the basement of his mom’s house to churning out hits in big name studios such as YaMomzHouse, Blaze Beatz has steadily began making a name for himself in the local Pittsburgh rap scene. Starting off composing beats and casually recording verses with his best friends, who later became known as Cash Ave. Music Group, Blaze has begun to establish his identity as an independent triple threat; composing beats is his first passion, but ghostwriting and performing live are his trump cards. Influenced by pioneers of hip hop such as Run DMC, LL Cool J, Rakim to todays artist such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Rick Ross and more.
In 2010 blaze dropped his very first mixtape titled "Aviator Music" creating a new buzz on the Pittsburgh scene. Blaze has helped to develop fellow band mates J. Mejor and P. Coles, by contributing verses to tracks as well as helping with lyrics. His quick wit and articulate delivery combined with catchy punch lines has landed him on stage opening for Ohio native Chip the Ripper at the Sky Bar, and performing at Pittsburgh hotspots such as Altar Bar, Rex Theatre, Shadow Lounge, Levels Lounge, and Dreams Nightclub. Blaze’s stage presence is unmatched to other locals; he’s sure to engage the crowd and if they didn’t know before, he’ll make them need to know all about him by the time he leaves the stage. When asked which artist he most resembled, his reply was “I have the demeanor of Drake, but I’m going to make you respect me like Rick Ross.”
