Blazing Violets

BandRock

The Blazing Violets play loud, bouncy rock & roll that induces dancing!

Biography

With their brand new, highly anticipated EP Under the Porch completed and a succession of gigs with notable indie rock acts under their belts, the Blazing Violets are rapidly becoming one of Edmonton's most prolific up-and-coming rock & roll bands.

The most powerful testament to their rock & roll prowess and credibility is the sheer mayhem and debauchery that is their live show. The Blazing Violets play with the philosophy that fans come out not only to hear great music, but to see a highly entertaining show as well! Having been inspired by such out-of-control bands as Iggy and the Stooges, Mudhoney and Kiss, and with onstage antics ranging from cross-dressing and undressing to stage diving and blood spitting, the Blazing Violets can really move a crowd!

The diverse influences of each band member, coupled with their desire to have cohesive songwriting, has caused a variety of musical persuasions to flourish within the band. Owing to this, the Blazing Violets have become Edmonton's one-and-only "classic-riot-punk-a-billy-glam-grunge" band! With songs ranging from the highly danceable to the heavily headbanging, the Blazing Violets are a prime example of turning genre-bending into a recipe for musical success.
