They are currently working on new songs and securing finance for a new album as well as gigging through to the end of the year.

History
Their history began when the two original members (Chris Makin, Kevin Ion) formed a 4-piece band called The Shims which started creating music in early November 2006. They quickly established themselves in the North West, developing a strong reputation with a loyal fan base. ‘’The Shims are the most professional band I have worked with’’ – Chairman, St Helens Music Collective. ‘’Great, mature songwriting belying their tender years, plus accomplished musicianship, make The Shims one of St. Helens best kept secrets’’ – St Helens Star Newspaper. The band integrate their music into the community by supporting local events and charities such as, Oxjam, Liverpool sound city and Children with Leukaemia, ‘’The night...was packed out...The Shims... led the entertainment’’ – St Helens Reporter Newspaper. In the forthcoming years, changes to the line up were made as their music progressed. In early 2009 'The Shims' renamed to 'Bleakhill' and recruited two new members (Mike Rawsthorne, Mike Taylor) to introduce new styles and influences.
This year Bleakhill are working with Producer Martin Coogan at Vibe Studios on new recordings. They have just finished their new track ‘Separate Ways’. Other highlights this year include; Main support for American signed band ‘The Dear & Departed’ “I love your music” – Dan Under, D & D. Also Manchester’s ‘Hungry Pigeon festival’ supporting, Kid British. “You’re the only band to sell out and standout...True Professionals” – Rob Trotter, SA Promotions.
