Bio

"Bled the Multitude" Formed in September 2003, Bled the Multitude has shown an exceptional amount of progress for such a young band. Started in the fall of 1999, James Alexander’s brother introduced him to Mike DePew at the University of Iowa’s Campus Christian Fellowship. After finding they had a common interest in the same music they decided to form a band, and started writing songs together. After several months of writing they posted fliers for a bass player & singer. Soon afterwards, Devon Hodgeman joined the band after his now ex-girlfriend threw one of James & Mike’s flyers at him telling him to “do something” with his life. Months later Mike showed James & Devon a flier from a vocalist seeking a band to work with. After an audition, Josh Letts joined the band to complete what is now known as Bled the Multitude.

"Josh Letts" Josh Letts, lead vocalist of Bled the Multitude, was born in Arizona and raised in Iowa where his passion for heavy metal was conceived. Josh’s vigor on stage is matched by few. Due to his energetic personality & stage presence he was dubbed the nickname “SuperSpaz” by his close friends. Josh is currently studying for his Applied Associates degree in LAN Management and diploma in PC Technician, but would rather follow his dream of becoming a metal vocalist.

"James Alexander" James Alexander, the guitar player for Bled the Multitude, boasts a long list of accomplishments since learning the guitar at an early age. James is a Riverside, Iowa native where he received many regional and statewide awards for his ability and creativity as a jazz musician. Many of Bled the Multitude’s songs were composed by him. He is currently a medical products manufacturer.

"Devon Hodgeman" Devon Hodgeman is the bass guitar player for Bled the Multitude. He comes from L.A., and has a wide history of music performance. He has done everything from ska and punk, to symphony orchestra. Among the instruments he has played at one point in time are the violin, upright bass, drums, bassoon, and the ukulele, which he learned while living in Hawaii. He has made a career out of carpentry, but hopes to get out of that to make more time for music.

"Mike DePew" Mike DePew, born in Easton, Maryland, started playing drums in the fifth grade. He played the snare drum for his school band all through middle school before he got his first trap set. During his high school years he played in the marching band, jazz band, and pep band. Outside of school, Mike played in a classic rock band before he met James and started Bled the Multitude. Mike is now a Computer Science & Math major at the University of Iowa, and hopes to pursue a career as a musician.
