"NME Clip Feature"

Old fogies be gone! The new video for the band's single features lots of...teenagers. - NME.com

"Rolling Stone New & Hot"

The video for "Teenage Girls," the new single from Australian rockers Bleeding Knees Club, is appropriately enough, a tribute to teenage girls. "We wanted was it to capture that carefree, who-gives-a-fuck attitude that the girls had when I was a teenager," says frontman Alex Wall. "We decided to do this clip while we were over in the U.K., and we really wanted it to be filmed in the U.S.A. because we felt the U.S. has that kind of attitude we wanted the clip to have. When I got the first cut back a few weeks later and the opening scene was a bird smoking an apple bong, I knew he nailed it." - RollingStone.com

"MTV Buzzworthy Blog"

So you have been watching "The MTV Iggy Show," where we travel the world in search of various acts and genres every week, right? Good. Last week, we hit up Mexico, Brazil and Nigeria, and today, Iggy travels to Australia and Malaysia for three diverse yet equally explosive artists.

For our first act in our third weekly roundup of the most exciting new music from around the world, we've got New Zealand pop star and drummer Zowie, whose debut single "Broken Machine" went gold in her home country. Described as "Betty Page from the future with a Kiwi accent and a dose of sexy pop" by Iggy host Heather Holliday, the singer has already toured with Mark Ronson and Katy Perry, and her latest single, "Smash It," has appeared on "Pretty Little Liars."

After that, check out Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna, whose poignant, original tracks and innovative cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are" have expanded her success past her native country. Fans of Feist and Cat Power will want to check this one out.

Finally, Iggy heads to Australia to catch up with Sydney garage-pop group Bleeding Knees Club. With comparisons to The Drones and Best Coast, the duo's debut EP Virginity combines, as MTV Iggy puts it, "the sugary ooh-oohs of the Beach Boys, the warm buzz of No Age and the reckless garage sound of Black Lips." You'll dig.

Absorb these great acts this week and come back next Monday for more of the same. You're welcome. - MTV.com

Bio

If ever there was a Club to sign up to, it's the one spearheaded by rip-roaring, party-hardy duo Jordan Malane and Alex Wall.

An irrepressible garage-pop 'n' surf-punk pair that burst out of Australia's Gold Coast in 2010, Bleeding Knees Club have won hearts and minds through a reckless live reputation and, on the recorded front, with a swag of super-catchy tunes on their debut EP "Virginity".

At home they quickly landed tours with the likes of Wavves and Lightspeed Champion, as well as a slot on the revered Big Day Out festival in January. The visceral thrill of EP cuts "Have Fun" and "Bad Guys" saw them flogged on Australian radio, and also made the rest of the world quickly sit up and take notice.

In May, Bleeding Knees Club temporarily relocated to the UK where they shared stages with Black Lips, Cults, Toro y Moi, Cerebral Ballzy and many more. They also scored spots on tastemaker festivals The Great Escape in Brighton, and Liverpool Sound City.

Notoriously hard-to-impress UK music bible NME fawningly named them as one of the 50 Best New Bands of 2011, and fresh London singles label Noir snapped them up for a one-off 7".

Jordan and Alex then high-tailed it to New York City, to record their forthcoming debut album with new BFF Dev Hynes (from Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange) as producer. The upcoming record encapsulates everything that's made the world fall in love with Bleeding Knees Club these past 12 months: it's a raw 'n' urgent set of super-fun songs about girls, getting high, and sticking it to The Man.

Since returning to Australia from New York City in July, Bleeding Knees Club’s blistering run continued, hitting the road with local legends The Vines on their national tour.

During the madness the duo added a 3rd full time member, with Matt Woods joining the fray on drums, just in time to wow Big Sound and Changing Lanes crowds in early September.

After inking a deal with LA-Based Label IAMSOUND (Florence & The Machine, Active Child), BKC released album preview single Teenage Girls worldwide, with a clip that will take most people back to the joys of formative years. Their Virginity EP is released in the USA on October 18th, just in time for their key IAMSOUND, NME & Windish Agency showcases at CMJ Music Marathon, NYC.

Following a Month Long Stint in the US, BKC return home for Summer Festivities the release of Teenage Girls, including spots at Homebake and The Falls (Lorne). This good-time duo are truly bringing the party the world-over.

With Their Debut Album "Nothing To Do" due March 2012, catch them wherever, whenever you can ... it's time to join the Club!
