Bio

A project that started back in Omaha, Ne around Nov. 2007 would lead to the formation of Blessed are the Merciless. Drummer Andre Thompson and vocalist Kapree Walton who were members of the Dire Kaos project for a year which failed to launch, soon after enlisted the help of lead guitarist Jon Cole. During many practices and jam sessions of trying to discover a determining style or subgenre
for this metal originated band, it was clear that the intensity and welcoming of aggression would be the driving force behind this band in its beginning stages. After many failed tryout auditions and lack of commitment from possible members, two spots remained vacant in BATM. As the songwriting began to flow more smoothly BATM met Shane Thomason who would join the band as the rhythm guitarist. With the lineup finally complete the songwriting went into full progress. March 2008 would be the unveiling of Blessed Are The Merciless onto the Omaha local music scene and the reactions were well accepted exceeding all expectations. BATM has a reputation for provoking pure insanity among people and playing music that sucks you in; with songs and lyrical content consisting of revenge, self empowerment, and all out chaos. BATM has been relentless with making a name for themselves and establishing the band as one of Omaha’s heavy hitters opening up for such national acts as Straight Line Stitch, Impending Doom, Carnifex,Hardcore legends Madball and the list goes on and on. BATM is also the second band in Omaha to be crowned Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands Finals Champions. After a split with former Bassist Bill, long time friend of the band Justin Walker stepped in as the BATM's Bass Player.

Year 2011 we have a new lineup and new tunes for Omaha.
