Blind Joe

Blind Joe

BandCountrySinger/Songwriter

My music is difficult to classify because I blend country, punk, rock, soul and blues. I like to call it "real" music 'cause I play and sing from the heart. Most people, however, just call it good drinkin music. You can check it out at youtube.com (search Blind Joe, then click on joeandriki)

Biography

Blind Joe: North Dakota's Outlaw Country Son

The rowdy non-stop Country Soul that is Blind Joe is as infectious as a night of Jack Daniels and a few Hank Williams songs on the jukebox. Coming from nowhere to being the most successful musician in the Fargo-Moorhead area in a little over 2 years, Blind Joe has shared the stage with numerous top local and regional acts over the past few years, as well as national recording artists such as David Allan Coe, Craig Morgan, Bret Michaels of Poison, Jackyl, The Kentucky Headhunters, Michale Graves of the Misfits, Joe Buck of Hank III's band, John Lee Hooker Jr., John Hiatt and many, many more. Recording an album a year for the past three years, 'People Like Me,' and 'Soul Singin’ Son of a Bitch,' have already sold well over 4,000 copies, while the new album 'Warm Whiskey, Cold Beer,' is set to drop August 15th 2008 and promises to be the best Blind Joe album to date. Touring non-stop all over the region, Blind has played to thousands in the past two and a half years, from bars to theatres to arenas, sold massive amounts of Blind Joe merch and become a staple in the music community. Gearing up for non-stop shows throughout the fall and winter months in North Dakota and a Southern tour this spring, Blind Joe is tapping his way quickly into the hearts and minds of people all over the United States.

It Ain't Country Enough

Written By: Blind Joe

“It Ain’t Country Enough”
by Blind Joe
If you don’t hear a fiddle or a steel guitar
Or a hillbilly singin ‘bout a honky tonk bar
If the bass ain’t bangin and the vocals are rough
Brother, it ain’t country enough

If it don’t tug at your heartstrings and tear at your soul
Get you up and dancin, goin out of control
If ya hear it on the radio and don’t turn it up
Then, brother, it ain’t country enough

If you can’t move to it, groove to it, up and slam some booze to it
Party to it all night long
If it ain’t about whiskey sippin, guitar pickin, tractors, trailers, trucks or prison
Man, it ain’t a country song
I like them real cool, old school, barstool jams
‘Bout drinkin, lyin, laughter, and love
So if your feet ain’t stompin once the band starts rockin
Brother, it ain’t country enough

If ya hear it and it ain’t stuck in your head all day
It’s got a pop back beat and it’s sung the wrong way
Charlie Daniels wouldn’t dig it and Hank Jr.’d say it sucked
Then, brother, it ain’t country enough

If instead of usin English you use foreign words
Win a competition that you didn’t deserve
Some fur coat wearin wanna be’s producing your stuff
Then brother, you ain’t country enough

If you can’t move to it, groove to it, up and slam some booze to it
Party to it all night long
If it ain’t about whiskey sippin, guitar pickin, tractors, trailers, trucks or prison
Man, it ain’t a country song
I like them real cool, old school, barstool jams
‘Bout drinkin, lyin, laughter, and love
So if your feet ain’t stompin once the band starts rockin
Brother, it ain’t country enough

Yeah, if your feet ain’t stompin once the band starts rockin
Then, brother, it ain’t country enough

Drinkin Your Memory Off My Mind

Written By: Blind Joe

Drinkin’ Your Memory Off My Mind by Blind Joe

She said boy, I’m gone, I’ve had enough
Cause all you do is drink and smoke that stuff
Now I’m drownin in a pool of tears
Downin whiskey shots and ice cold beers
Gonna drink so much that I can’t think
So turn the jukebox up and let me hear some Hank
I just need to sit here and unwind
Drinkin your memory off my mind

My buddies say I’ll be okay
And I’ll live to see another day
But it still feels like I’m doin time
Drinkin your memory off my mind

I can’t believe she just up and left
I’m probably gonna drink myself to death
But I just don’t know where else to start
I’m just tryin to mend this broken heart
The bartender told me to slow down
But I need another shot of Crown
Maybe then I’ll switch to wine
I’m drinkin your memory off my mind

My buddies say I’ll be okay
And I’ll live to see another day
But it still feels like I’m doin time
Drinkin your memory off my mind

Yeah, it still feels like I’m doin time
Drinkin your memory off my mind
