Bio

Blind Mississippi Morris

Morris Cummings, born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, has battled through life's adversity with the loss of his sight at the age of four. Taking the stage name Blind Mississippi Morris, he is the very embodiment of the Delta Blues. Drawing continuously from the tradition of Blues greats of the region such as B.B. King, Elmore James, Robert Johnson, and Junior Kimbrough. He comes from a lineage of talent, from his cousins the late great Blues Legends Willie Dixon, Robert and Mary Diggs, the famed lead of the Memphis Sheiks, to his Aunt Mary Tanner who played with "Harps of Melody".
