Bio
Blind Thistle's musical focus is on writing and producing original songs for radio, TV and film. The group enjoys playing live as method of "bouncing" new songs off the public as kind of music review.
One thing the members of Blind Thistle have done is to meld widely diverse musical tastes together. Greg Bock, the founding member of the band, enjoys the sound of The Eagles, Tom Petty, Wallflowers and many others. Those group influences can be heard throughout the band's music. Gary Schultz shares similar interests to Greg's but adds contemporary Christian music as an influence. Gary's heart was impacted by the terrorist attacks in NYC and DC, steering his songwriting to happier moments in one's life but not forgetting the serious side of events. Brian Rempel brings his love of the Greatful Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic sound to the band's music production. Randy Nix is a hard rocker inside. Influenced by bands like the Chili Peppers and The Fray, several songs are hard charging and add diversity to the band's song list. Keyboardist James Blacksun has his roots in jazz and is working on memorizing all the jazz standards as a personal challenge!
