- Flensburger Tageblatt | 11. April 2011 | Von Joachim Pohl und Antje Walther

"Quote from Harald Haugaard"

“These fantastic four women bring you to the great universe of Nordic music like no one else. With great integrity they create a sound that calls for the ancient Nordic roots and bravely bring them up to date. It's a lot of power, it's sensitive and it's some of the best at the Nordic scene right now.”

Fiddler and professor at the Danish Carl Nielsen Academy of Music,
Harald Haugaard

"Quote from Tarmo Noormaa"

"... Usually when I listen to music I feel certain emotions. And usually I feel the same emotions in different bands - but not this time. The girls have created not only new sound aesthetics but also a fresh spectre of emotions. They are brilliant musicians with new ideas and good groovy tunes.

Their ideas for compositions and new tunes reflect their own life experience. On stage they are very sincere and open to communicate to the audience. They enjoy each other and they enjoy perfoming.

For me the main value in this group is this feeling thing and personal touch. And as my job is to promote traditional music I can say that they convince everybody that traditional music is on the peak of the wave."

Bio

The four young women in Blink has taken their audiences like a storm, since their start in September 2009. With blood, sweat, tears and above all love they explore the bare naked ensemble playing of two strings and two voices, taking Nordic contemporary folk to unheard universes. Blink´s mixture of traditional music from the North/Baltics and their own compositions blends together naturally in a sound oozing of surprisingly groovy power. With a stage performance radiating of feeling and humour they evoke both laughing, crying and dancing amongst their listeners. Young but experienced world travelling artists, these four women together travel the North and are aiming at the stars!
