Bio

Bloe, a native Sacramento musician, has been involved with Hip Hop for almost two decades. Musically, he is a two headed monster known as Bloe, the emcee, writer, and performer, and Blozart, the producer. Bloe first reached musical acclaim while in the group Verbatum, which consisted of himself, his sister, Tenashus, and their long time friend, DJ Epik. Verbatum created quite a buzz regionally in 2000 with the release of their debut album “Sacrifice”, which Bloe wrote and co-produced. In the late 1990’s, Verbatum performed over 250 shows, won a SAMMIE (Sacramento Area Music Award) in 1999 for best Hip Hop group, and were spotlighted as up and coming artists in 2000 by nationally distributed Hip Hop magazine “THE SOURCE”. After a three year of focusing on production, Bloe resurfaced with Verbatum and two new members as Royalle Family. Royalle Family ambushed its listeners’ ears with unparalleled production and trendsetting lyrics on their debut album “The Crown Is Heavy”, which Bloe wrote and co-produced. “The Crown Is Heavy” had special features from the Grammy Award winning Chino Moreno of the Deftones, Tekitha of Wu Tang Clan, and Doey Rock (Sick Wit It Records), among others. Released on Bloe’s co-owned Independent record label Royalle Records, “The Crown Is Heavy” undersold expectations for such a complete album. During their time together, the Royalle Family performed over 100 shows and toured on the Gold Chain Music Tour with Planet Asia, Casual, Cali Agents, Flii Stylz, and Rasco, among others. Comfortable on any stage, Bloe consistently leaves the audience asking for more. Performing for over a decade at a wide array of venues, on various tours, sharing the stage with KRS One, Erykah Badu and Dead Prez to name a few. Bloe has the showmanship and stage presence to command any crowd. Nick-named by his production peers as “Blozart,” for his keyboard mastery, he draws his inspiration from Dr. Dre, Dj Premier, DJ Quik, and Jay Dilla. Blozart has writing and production credits on the albums of 2003 Grammy nominated Mystic’s “Forecast” and 2003 Grammy nominated Planet Asia. Blozart has co-production credits on “Rize”, the soundtrack and score of the David La Chapelle major motion documentary. Blozart is currently producing a number of projects to be released on his co-owned record label, Royalle Records. Prior to these achievements, he had production credits on compilations “The Capitol’s Best,” “Omina Bust,” and “916 Unified.” Blozart has also been responsible for production on the music of Mac Dre, the Living Legends, Grouch, Murs, Flii Stylz, Keak da Sneak, Pep Love (of the Hieroglyphics), Mob Figgaz, C.M.A., Doey Rock, Bueno, and many others. Now focused on his solo career Bloe is releasing “Gems & Throwaway” as a prelude to his debut album “For Sale” out in Spring 2009 on Royalle Records. Bloe’s musical style is an intoxicating cocktail of his favorite lyrical influences like Mobb Deep and the D.O.C. blended with his own formula of street credit and garnished with party loving lyrics. These two albums illustrate Bloe’s style with his colossal beats that interwoven with contagious hooks and powerful lyrics. Bloe’s music has received high praise for his lyrics, production, and arrangement.
