"Throbbing Pop Songs"

I do know that they make throbbing monster pop songs like Running Miles, and frankly, that’s all I’m interested in. - A New Band A Day

"Expect the crowd pumped from the outset!"

BLONDES IN TOKYO
This three piece group from Brighton are aiming to be a genuine crossover band between punk and electro, fusing metallic guitars, with machine-punched beats and samples. The singer can’t sing particularly well, but it doesn’t stop him trying, and it actually adds to their punk attitude; and let’s face it, Jonny Rotten was hardly operatic! There’s a snarled style woven into every track and with early examples, such as ‘Running Miles‘, you get a well-constructed tune that shows us they also have a more matured song-writing ability. They’re first on at this show, so expect them to get the crowd pumped from the outset. (MB) - The Recommender Blog

"Euphoric Electro Rock"

Euphoric electro rock with a dark underbelly, referencing early synth pioneers like cluster and the inevitable kraftwerk, but bringing it bang-up-to-date with a noughties rave-punk attitood.

Bio

Bored and disillusioned with the multitudes of uninspired guitar bands claiming to be ‘dancefloor ready’ via the addition of one synth, Brightonian three-piece Blondes In Tokyo dusted off their samplers and sequencers and set forth with one mission – to create genuine dance/rock crossover music. Inspired by the eclectic chopping of classic hip-hop records and the blistering production of contemporary French electro house, the band marry intelligent rock songwriting to the high energy impact of these influences, crafting noisy, catchy, hook-driven music to make all their people move. After many months locked in the studio, with only themselves and Tyrone, the beatmashing eighties ghetto blaster for company, Blondes in Tokyo began to take their project to the live haunts of Brighton and London, and have shared the stage with the likes of Sleigh Bells, Pnau, Is Tropical, Teeth, You Love Her Coz She's Dead and Alabama 2. All of this is begginning to provide the music scene in 2011 with a much-needed hairdryer in the face, punch in the balls, and orgasm in the ears.
