Bio
Admittedly, not much has happened in the New London Connecticut Hardcore scene in the last few years. The glory days of the El-N-Gee are long past, and with their passing, much of the local hardcore scene has died along with them. In fall 2007, the pendulum began to swing in the opposite direction yet again with the advent of Blood Groove. Conceived by guitarist James “JJ” Glaude,” and long-time New London residents and scene veterans Mark Larson(vox) and Jim Lockett(bass), they quickly found drummer Jacob Jordison ready and willing to fill the position of skinsman. Adding second guitarist Josh Syzmanski in July ’08 has served to only broaden the band’s sound and technical ability.
Combining traditional 2-step hardcore beats, pummeling “tough guy” riffs, with a slight touch of southern metal virtuosity, the band determinedly forged ahead with it’s unique sound, quickly becoming one of New London’s flagship hardcore bands. Playing shows relentlessly since February ’08, Blood Groove has quickly earned a reputation for their enthusiastic live shows and solid work ethic from the rest of the newly re-emerging hardcore scene in southeastern Connecticut. Poised to release their debut E.P., Oppose Your Fears, in December 2008, Blood Groove are determined to build a legacy of strong performance and proudly continue the tradition of CT Hardcore.
