"Blood of Cain Construction Destruction"

"By his own hands, in the first recorded human act of violence, Cain slew his younger brother Abel in a fit of anger. Abel tended flocks for a living while Cain worked the soil with his hands, and God preferred Abel’s work and sacrifice over Cain’s, even though Cain’s work was in accordance with the curse God had previously put upon the ground after the expulsion from paradise. God then cursed Cain to be a restless wanderer on the earth, his brother’s blood on his hands.
For millennia people have worked the soil of the earth both literally and figuratively, bringing forth the fruits of human culture and history in addition to the all-important crops that feed us. Just as immense pressure over a long period of time turns organic matter into coal and then into diamonds deep within the earth, the same type of primal alchemy is found at the fountainhead of musical creation, where the fire of pure vision is refined in the crucible into raw emotion and power.

Blood of Cain forge an alloy of melodic thrash, death metal, power metal, and other genres into a massive sound that must be heard to be experienced. Fire pulled down from the gods meets blood, sweat and pain dredged up from the depths of the earth in a brutally passionate transformation. Citing influences such as Pantera, King Diamond, and European death metal, they yet manage to create a sound that is unique to themselves. “We don’t stick on one style,” Jake reiterates; “listen to our songs, they all sound different.” Their song structures are traditional metal, but they switch from fast upbeat verse parts to heavy, rhythmic choruses with ease. “Songwriting-wise we’ve really hit it off well and we’re writing quickly,” says Frank. “Once everybody has the music down I start to incorporate lyrics into it, we’ve got a really good set of songs.”

Their lyrics are ripped straight from the heart. “Bloody Bones”, for example, tells the story of someone waking up from what they thought was a nightmare to find that the nightmare was actually real – parents lie mutilated before their uncomprehending eyes as the family structure fell apart and disintegrated for reasons they couldn’t understand. Hearkening back to the very story from which their name is derived, Blood of Cain transmute the experience of pain and separation into a cathartic and heart-wrenching work of heaviness.

Drawing from a foundation of experience in past endeavors Bloodwork, Lysistrata, Dead in Adam, and Pit Fiends as well as current old-school Nor-Cal Metal Legends, Fallon, it’s clear that Blood of Cain are poised for bigger and better things. “You gotta plan for global domination”, Frank asserts. “Being the next big thing in this town is fun, and I know for a fact that it can be a focusing, where you focus on the outside; the thing is you can be the biggest thing in Nor-Cal and they don't know anything about you in So. Cal, Phoenix AZ, or Dallas TX.” Their most recent CD is now available on iTunes and Amazon and the band has enough material to record another full length CD by years end. - David Boone - The Synthesis.Net

Bio

Blood of Cain forge an alloy of melodic thrash, death metal, power metal, and other genres into a massive sound that must be heard to be experienced. Fire pulled down from the gods meets blood, sweat and pain dredged up from the depths of the earth in a brutally passionate transformation. Bassist Scott lays down the low-end groundwork, and the often Maiden-esque dueling lead and rhythm guitars of Keith and Jake counterweight the ferocious drumming of Kendo. Vocalist Frankie Swa screams like there’s no tomorrow. Together they sound like a well-oiled metal machine. Citing influences such as Pantera, King Diamond, Death, The Faceless, InFlames, Deicide and the genre of European Death Metal, they yet manage to create a sound that is unique to themselves.
