Blood Sport

There are three of Blood Sport. They’ve been going for just over a year, peddling a wild combination of afro-beat, soukous, post-punk and noise rock. There’s a drumkit, an electric guitar, a baritone guitar, and lots of pedals. Someone sings through more pedals and changes the sounds with his foot.

After playing a half improvised set at the No Limits film festival, they decided never to pause in-between songs ever again. It worked – audiences felt propelled and compelled by the non-stop rhythms and constantly shifting accompaniment to pay more attention. Thus, a TAAE tape was released in late 2011 of choice cuts of the Blood Sport repertoire.

This year Blood Sport are writing a new set, new songs. April will see them give away a ‘transition’ EP with some new tracks recorded at Tie Dye Tapes HQ. They are going to try their very best to play to people outside of Sheffield too, touring and travelling. See you then.
