"Bloodties takes first in Merritt 2003"

Their sound ranges from beautiful ballads to rock and roll.

By their name BLOODTIES you might expect a Kiss style presentation but lightning bolts and face paint are not their style.

Hard driving as their sound maybe, this is a family orientated band. The name taken from the BLOODTIES that bind families.

In this case the family is a self-created one, born of long time friends, new friends, and family hospitality.

The band includes lead singer and lead guitarist Micheal Overton: drummer Anthony Brinoni: Marlon Cordeta on rhythm guitar and back-up vocals: Ken Yarema on bass guitar (replace by Cory Gurnett)

"We're just as much family and friends as we are a band," says Micheal. "No matter what happens we're going to have fun doing it."

The band members have been together a little over a year. They've reach a point in their lives where they perform mostly their own songs.

Together and independently the band members have written a number of songs in various style including Rocking Country, Rock & Roll, and Rhythm & Blues.

"It's really all routed in Blues & Rock," says Micheal. "We put a spin on everything."

Bio

Bloodties was formed in 2001 by the three core members Micheal Overton, Anthony Brinoni & Marlon Cordeta. The meaning of the band name represents a rich family influence and the strong bonds that hold the band together.

The band member's cultural tapestry and similar musical interest has produced an eclectic musical experience of Rock, Rhythm and blues.

In 2002 Bloodties won 1st place in a Radio contest with an original song Micheal wrote for his wife, titled ANGIE SONG. And In 2003 Bloodties won 2nd place overall in the BC, Alberta talent contest final held in Grand Prairie Alberta.

The band members regularly donate their musical talent for local charities such as Boys and Girls Youth Club, Rick Hanson Wheels in Motion, and a special funraiser called Firestock in September 2003 for all the families affected by the fires across BC that year, on which inspired the song "Bring Down The Rain".

On January 21,2006 Bloodties held their CD released concert in their home town Williams Lake BC at the Gibraltar room which was filled almost to capacity.
