The best kept secret in music

"Bloom Wows MB Staff"

Having drank more than a few tequila's, Webmaster Rick dragged my liquor-soaked hide to the far end of the bar to witness the serendipitous surprise of The Klaver Project, an crafty quintet who can dig an infectious groove even in the carpeted floor-level stage of the Olive. The band covers, no - owns the material from acts as diverse as U2 to Stevie Wonder. They have a way of delivering covers that sound better than the originals. I was unable to find a website as of this article, but you can e-mail the band at to find out where you can witness this gifted band.

"Love Revolves", EP, released in 2003, Prospect Records. played on the following:

WDTR - Detroit Public Schools Radio,
WDET - Detroit Public Radio, and
WXOU - Oakland University Radio.
89x- 88.7, Detroit's new rock alternative
WYCE- Grand Rapids Public Radio

Feeling a bit camera shy

Bloom is a five piece rock band, and veterans of the Detroit music scene. Since 2001, bloom has been developing its sound, line up, and purpose for making great recorded & live music. Originally a blues band titled "The Klaver Project" this group mashed from the Detroit Jazz scene, students at Wayne State University, and a few area jam bands. With the evolution of our original material, the name changed to "bloom" and their debut CD, “Love Revolves” (including 15 contributions from the entire band) was released in the Winter of 2003.
Bloom has since toured the mid-west for nearly two years, and continues to wow audiences in old and new venues with their dynamic and variety laced live act.
Bloom insists on a high energy show spotlighting the talented band and Reggie Smith as a powerhouse singer and performer. Styles in music range from Jimi Hendrix to Steve Wonder all the way to Bob Dylan and Coldplay. Influenced by many great styles and musicians, bloom is truly a unique mix of American music. Work on the 2nd studio album has begun, as well as their first live album release. With new songs being worked on everyday, and their ever expanding travels from Detroit, the future is very promising for the band.
