Biography

Bloom is a five piece rock band, and veterans of the Detroit music scene. Since 2001, bloom has been developing its sound, line up, and purpose for making great recorded & live music. Originally a blues band titled "The Klaver Project" this group mashed from the Detroit Jazz scene, students at Wayne State University, and a few area jam bands. With the evolution of our original material, the name changed to "bloom" and their debut CD, “Love Revolves” (including 15 contributions from the entire band) was released in the Winter of 2003.
Bloom has since toured the mid-west for nearly two years, and continues to wow audiences in old and new venues with their dynamic and variety laced live act.
Bloom insists on a high energy show spotlighting the talented band and Reggie Smith as a powerhouse singer and performer. Styles in music range from Jimi Hendrix to Steve Wonder all the way to Bob Dylan and Coldplay. Influenced by many great styles and musicians, bloom is truly a unique mix of American music. Work on the 2nd studio album has begun, as well as their first live album release. With new songs being worked on everyday, and their ever expanding travels from Detroit, the future is very promising for the band.

Lyrics

That'll Never Happen Today

Written By: Reggie Smith

I could be broken, stranded, & confused
I could be sorry for losing my youth
I could be sorry and regretfull I didn't always tell the truth, but
That'll Never Happen Today

I could be using a lot of energy
for something I can't show
I could be tired for reasons
that I don't even know
I could give all my love to you
for you to just say "so"
But That'll Never Happen Today

Today the sun shines on my street
Today love walks with me
Today I'm just happy being me with you
And nothings gonna change that today

I could be sick of my friends but I'm not
I could be sick of my life but I'm not
I could be sick of myself but I'm not
'Cause I'm not sick today

And today all my friends are in love with me
Today my love is on high
Today the sun is on my side of the street
Today the day is mine!

Today the sun shines on my street
Today love walks with me
Today I'm just happy being me with you
And nothings gonna change that today

Work Don't Ever Stop

Written By: Nicholas Klaver

Well, the roads are all crumbled
Broken windows everywhere
And the flames shoot up to heaven
As smoke consumes the air

Chorus: Well the wheels just keep on turning, and the work don't ever stop

Now my pockets are all empty
And my soul is bottled up
And I'm looking for some loving
To fill my empty cup

Chorus

Someday, I'll walk away from this place
And let the money pass me by
'Cause I aint sweating blood for dollars
For some joker sittin on high

Repeat

The roads are all crumbled
Broken windows everywhere
And the flames shoot up to heaven
As smoke consumes the air

Chorus

Then They're Gone

Written By: Michael Cianfarani

Forest slipping down paths unknown
All is broken, mosaic walls
Obscure nymph's smile, chilling to the bone

Chorus: Then They're Gone

Broken cup seeping the vital what
Of it's use broken dharma
Confusing drops welling forming a pond
In my lap of what once was

Chorus

Lego dreams built inside my dream
Of a perfect un-thought of planets
Bound by inexplicable pegs
The glue of my madness
The archaic quilt
that kept me so warm
All of the feathers are forlorn
Torn into emptiness floating down
On the the ground
of what I thought was

Chorus
