Bio

With their story still unfolding, BluBere is off to a start whose finish is not close in sight. From different backgrounds, cultures, education and influences, their paths have been woven together by a force much higher and much greater. Destined together before they ever met, fate or Higher Purpose propelled each to continue her education and training, which would lead her to this path of exploration and excitement. Each player brings to the table heritage rich with talent and sacrifice.

Whitney, who is affectionately nicknamed Dub, is the group's drummer and percussionist, but also plays flute, guitar, keyboards, adds vocals and other instruments not yet disclosed. Her maternal grandfather was a famous local Country Western artist in his hometown of Bolivar, TN. Passed down to her are passion and the pure joy of performing, which is most noticeable during the times she's playing the flute. She demonstrates her versatility as the group's drummer and all-round multi-instrumentalist. She can be counted on to laugh and make you laugh by default.

LaMisha or Mish is the group's primary keyboardist and vocalist, and is the granddaughter of A.D. Watson, the last founding member of the Original Bells of Joy, who were the first gospel group to reach Billboard with their famous hit, "Let's Talk About Jesus". Mish's playing style is ever evolving and when you think you've got her style labeled, she changes on you. She adds texture and character to songs and heavily contributes to song arrangements.

Erika Monique or E.M. is the group's bass player, underground vocalist, occasional saxophonist and when she's in the mood, keyboardist. More appropriate, she's the funk, fun, flavor, fever, fire. E.M.'s father is one of Austin's famous underground jazz drummers and close friend of the late Lavada "Dr. Hepcat" Durst of Austin, Texas. Her father introduced her to and nursed her love of music, in addition to continued encouragement and old school education. If you hear something strange in the music, it is probably because E.M. likes strange sounds.

As they continue to grow as a group, their reflection shines in the songs they write and rainbows spring forth during their performances. These dynamic musicians obeyed the call to journey together and what the listener is left with is an opportunity to join BluBere on their musical journey into Destiny.
