Bio
The "Blue Balls Monkeys”, who came into being on 5 September 2007, are the creation of Matteo “Mez” Mezzetti (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Simone “Joe” Palladino (lead and rhythm guitar), Marco “Ze” Schender (bass) and Alex “Villa” Villani (drums).
Their sound is mainly inspired by Classic Rock, with influences from Punk, Hard Rock and Grunge.
The atmosphere of their music is strongly reminiscent of the member's homeland, Emilia, in Northern Italy: it features a mix between the typical grey winter damp of urban areas, which is palpable in songs like "Lavenders and Rainbows", and the strong, deep heat and colour of the summertime, which makes people want to have fun and party, just as in "Rock this Town".
The band has been busily involved in live performances since 2008, and has taken part in several shows across the whole region.
In 2009 the BBM reached the playoffs of the "Band on Air" contest, in Modena.
During 2010 they were the finalists in several music competitions like "Sorsi di Rock" in Bologna, "RockaFè" in Ferrara and "Rock the Night" in Modena. They also showed up on the Over Stage of the 12th edition of "Festa della Libertà" in Zocca (Modena), one of the most important music festivals in the country.
In March of the same year, Blue Balls Monkeys recorded "Beware of the Monkeys", their first self-produced E.P.
