The Dallas music scene is in a serious depression. The Deep Ellum of the nineties is in dormancy; yet another victim of the corporate manifest destiny that has assimilated so many of our city’s visual and personal landmarks. Over the years, faces of the scene have moved on, grown up, or found “real” jobs. They’ve fled the desert looking for a new oasis elsewhere. And so, we now live in a town full of DJ’s and cover bands, an arid wasteland of hollow and recycled alt rock. Here in Dallas, new sounds worth hearing are diamonds in the rough. And good venues have all but disappeared. But things are not lost yet. It is at times like these when a band with something to offer can make a name for themselves...

Blue Condition is that band.

Their brand of rock is founded on a steady diet of blues -- everything from Leadbelly and Robert Johnson to Stevie Ray and Chris Whitley. Fusing Delta and Texas blues with 70’s arena rock melodies, and 90’s pop/rock hooks, Blue Condition has found a style and sound that they can call their own – a blend of soulful and energetic music displayed in every performance.

“None of us have really felt any connection with the local or mainstream bands we’re hearing lately,” says guitar player Mike Townson. “There is no soul. It’s hard to listen to the same auto-tuned voice or boring performance and feel inspired. Where’s the energy? Where is the movement? There’s only so much fun someone can have listening to the same morose lyrics and guitar riffs with no melody, before they say, ‘Okay. I’m done.’” This is why they have a mission to bring a solid and energetic rock show full of melodies that fans can dance to and will be humming in the shower the next morning. They have been known to go on long, intricate jams where guitars wail in pure, unfiltered blues heaven and that leave fans screaming for more.

Behind a wall of harmonies, 3 guitars, drums, and bass are songs that weave narratives at the front door of today’s culture and neighborhoods. Blue Condition is a band of modern-day storytellers relating personal experiences on common everyday themes from love, sex, the war in Iraq, and drug abuse. They have crafted melodic works that are at home played on acoustic or through a gained out Mesa. The hard hitting, blues hailstorm that is “Where You Goin’” is in stark contrast to their sensual lullaby, the melodic and hypnotic “Ayla”. But be sure that both songs will make you want to move.

Blue Condition begun the recording process, cultivating an electrifying five song EP. These songs will be handed in CD and digital format via iPod distribution. And they will gladly load your iPod with a PodCast of their songs and the Blue Condition story at any of their shows.

Initially formed in 2005 as a recording project, Blue Condition has recently become a full live performing band. Its music ranges in style from the contemplative emotional state to the fist-in-the-air rock anthem. Blue Condition creates the sounds of the blues rock era re-interpreted through a modern lens. Where excess is the rule of thumb, prepare to experience the best of the blues.

Blue Condition defies genre sound and transforms blues and alternative rock with powerful, soulful vocals. The composition echoes the work of Robert Johnson, Zeppelin, Chris Whitley, The Eagles, Free, & The Black Crowes or even hints of artists like Arc Angels, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Storyville and Double Trouble surround the style. Performing poetic vocals, harmonizing and slide guitar, powerful drum beats with rythmatic emotion telling the story of Blue Condition.

"Blue Condition are rising stars in lyrical rock."
