Blue Cypress

Blue Cypress, a trio formed on a crisp fall night in Tampa, Florida in 2009. Members are:

George Fuller, married, two children, freelance copywriter. A native of Spanish Fort, Alabama and former lead singer/guitarist for the genre-busting punk bluegrass band Skunk Posey. George moved to Tampa, Florida in 1992 to further a career in advertising. Recorded an EP in 1999 but officially returned to performing and songwriting in 2006 with release of his first full-length album entitled George Fuller III.

Erin Janus, married, yoga teacher. Moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 2008 to escape the bitter Wisconsin winters. Joined a jazz trio that played standards as its lead singer. When her band mates moved, she put an ad on Craig's List hoping to connect with a people and form a new band, but this time one in which she could perform her own very distinctive songs - better described as Americana than jazz.

Reina Collins, Florida native who has spent the last 20 years in Southern California, the Rocky Mountains and Portland, Oregon, recently returned to St. Pete. Reina has performed all over the country in support of four albums, the latest of which was recorded in Nashville with members of Grammy winner Emmylou Harris’ band. An eclectic blend of jazz, blues as well as folk, her recordings have received international acclaim.

As Blue Cypress, we have live recordings from recent performance on the Live Music Showcase of Tampa radio station WMNF. Currently, we're writing songs for our first album as a trio.
