Bio
Brennan Leeds got an early start in Nashville playing all the guitar tracks on his debut album on music row by age fourteen. Dubbed the next Paul Simon by legendary four time Grammy winning producer Michael Omartian (Christopher Cross, Cliff Richard, Madonna, Donna Summer, Steely Dan), Leeds has been writing and playing live since he was ten years old. In 2012, Leeds and his band mate Kenneth Fox met at the Interlochen Arts Academy as members of Courtney Kaiser-Sandler's (Kaiser Cartel, John Mellencamp, The Wallflowers, Sufjan Stevens) first ever class of singer-songwriters at one of the top highschools for music performance in the world. In four prolific months, Brennan and Kenneth collaborated to write 25 songs. Huddled together in the wilderness of Northern Michigan, Fox and Leeds whittled their 25 song list to ten tracks which have become their debut album: "Tidal Sound", a collection of hook laden, contemplative ballads from Leeds and up-beat energy filled pop-rock from Fox. The two songwriters knew the necessity of solid rhythm, and added the groove filled stylings of Casey Batterbee, who trained under jazz great Bill Sears (Ray Charles, Dizzie Gillespie) at the Arts Academy. Blue Eyed Sun was born.
Using the stark Michigan winter as fuel, the three virtually lived on weekends at Halohorn studios during January of 2013: recording, producing, arranging, and playing all instruments and directing choral segments for their ten track debut album with recording engineer Andy Van Guilder (Rachel Brooke). "Tidal Sound" was mixed at Blackbird Pro Studios in Nashville, Tennessee by two time Grammy award winning engineer David Hall (Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Rimes) and mastered by industry legend Benny Quinn (Lady Antebellum, Merle Haggard, Marshall Tucker Band, Chris LeDoux).
The band is currently touring regionally in Michigan with their great friends and fellow songwriters, The Accidentals (@moreaccidentals, www.moreaccidentals.com), and are planning a more extensive tour after the release of their album.
