"Secondly there is the recently released ‘Up To My Knees’ by the Blue Grass Orphans. One of the members of this band is my friend, Paula (aka cowpunkmom). If bluegrass is your thing then this album won’t disappoint. My favourites so far are ‘I hear a sweet voice calling’ and ‘The outskirts of Saskatoon’, plus the ‘Fistful of Dollars’ snippet. This album is available at both i-tunes and e-music. So check it out and buy yourself a copy."

Bio
As Blue Grass Orphans, we play and sing Blue Grass music much like the original Blue Grass groups from the 1930’s to 1950’s. Our inspiration comes from such legends as Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys, and the Stanley Brothers.
The music is fast, bluesy and syncopated with strong gospel vocals. We especially like the gospel vocal songs. They are a unique and powerful aspect of Roots Blue Grass music. Our main venues are festivals, jamborees, concerts, fundraisers and church functions.
As a band we have a fairly strict mandate to play Roots Blue Grass Music. There is a real need for the Canadian Prairie’s heritage music and acoustic roots music within Canada. By choosing to play Roots Blue Grass, we hope to breathe new life into the next generation of Roots Music lovers.
There are many great, hidden Blue Grass treasures. We look forward to playing these gentle treasures for you, entertaining you, and passing on our passion and love for Roots Blue Grass Music!
