Duece

Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Duece is a new up and coming Hip-Hop artist ready to take on the music industry by storm. He fell in love with music at a young age due to his parents always being around it. By the age of 12, he started writing his own songs and practicing freestyles whenever he had the chance. He was inspired by the names of Kanye West, Nas, DMX, Marvin Gaye, New Birth, Starlito, and Playa Fly. He had been into writing and making music for a long time but never took it serious cause he was afraid of being rejected. He did have people that said he was good but that fear always blocked him from stepping out on faith, but this year felt different. Despite COVID and numerous of other things, he wanted to give his music a true shot. As years went on, he developed his own record label, BlueMoonMusik, to break away from major labels and make his name known solely being an independent artist. He started learning how to record, mix and master music in a small closet in his house. Once he was able to master those skills, he then start selling his CDs from out of his own car to make a profit. Along the way, he then learn the ways of producing so he could make his own beats. His style if you could pinpoint it, would be that of a Kendrick Lamar/J Cole/Logic type. - New HipHops

How does the music you make now compare to music you made when you first started out?

The music that I make now is has a different sound, well my own sound. I believe now my fans will now be able to recognize who I am as soon as the music is played compared to in the beginning my style, flow, etc was all in a way was emulation of the different artists who inspired me.
How did you come up with your stage name?

Actually a friend on mine came up with Duece. When I first started out my original name was 2Deep however there was already an established artist that went by that name so I had to find another one and couldn’t think of anything. So one day my friend had came over and “Duece, Duece what’s up mane.” And from then on it stuck with me - Raps International
