Bluepages

Bluepages

BandRockPop

Five talented songwriters. Four talented and seasoned performers. High energy, always entertaining shows. Addictive tunes drawn from a huge variety of influences. All together it's pop-rock bliss.

Biography

The rock and roll of Bluepages is pure pop textured with juicy punk and a heavy groove. It's a delicate mix of hooks with just a little zest, a little spice. You want to dance or sing along but sometimes you just cannot help but jump around. Other times relax while the bass and guitar just lull you into a dream. The lyrics tell a tale of love, loss, and the absurd and struggles with the post-modern dilemma of how to live and be happy in an age of iPods, orange alerts, and reality overload.

The band formed in early 2003 by drummer James Beck and guitarist Jim Yanks. Singer Chris Zobler joined soon thereafter and with the addition of bassist Tim Altman in the spring of 2004 they were complete. Bluepages spent 2004 rehearsing, recording, and gigging. Stereotypo, the debut LP released in April 2005, is a delicious mix of upbeat pop rock with subtle tastes of bluesy guitar, funky grooves and inspired folksy lyrics. A delight to listen to from beginning to end, Stereotypo is a gluttonous feast for the ears and lost lasting sustenance for the mind.

Bluepages are currently working on their second LP; with loads of talent, creativity, enthusiasm and pop appeal, Bluepages are taking off. So sit down, relax, throw on the CD and enjoy the ride.

Lyrics

finisher

Written By: Tim Altman

You could say I treat her right
I find it in the dark
In the candlelight tonight

Hey can Candy come and play?
I want her every day
Fortunately for that

Lost in my mind there's a fine line -- fine time for everything
Time is the only thing on my side – waiting on my wallflower
W ant it and then it becomes you – fortunately for that
She comes to me starts to say but – I get the last word

I get to finish her, I get to finish her
I get to finish, (I get the last word)

She tried to keep me in the dark
Hide me from the light
Quiet and out of sight

Is this way I find her out?
Open surgery on her heart
Fortunately for that

Jet-lagged and bruised by the distance -- I just want a phone call
Finding some time to catch up – fortunately for that
What is it worth to go over again -- all the running water
Under the bridge keeps on running away – It keeps running away from me

I get to finish her, I get to finish her
I get to finish, (I get the last word)

So many songs I never write
Light lighting cigarettes in the wind
You just turn your back on it

I heard you say I'm out of sight
Out of sight and out of mind
I know that you're out of it – I know that you're out of it

I get to finish her, I get to finish her
I get to finish, (I get the last word)

i get by

Written By: Tim Altman

Can't hold back what's inside of me
It popped out while you were riding me
Justified to be deriding me
I never spoke a lie

I guess I kind of thrust into your heart
Love I never wanna be a part
A part of your life – so when can we start
Now you go and cry

Don't look back she's waving for you now
Hold your breath and then the moment's gone

What you said is what you meant I can't buy that line it's time I'm getting back
I can't find the right side of my mind
Right side up and upside down I twist and climb and crash and burn
I get by just fine

What's that light that burns inside your eyes
Lose my ground and makes me hypnotized
I can't sort out from all your crooked lies
Is this suicIde?

Crash and burn, slam the throttle down
Don't look now I'm six feet underground
What's that sound? Yeah, I'm still around
I'm never gonna die

Morning breaks and then you let it slide
No regrets just kiss the past goodbye

What you said is what you meant I can't buy that line it's time I'm getting back
I can't find the right side of my mind
Right side up and upside down I twist and climb and crash and burn
I get by just fine

I stopped for you to come around
You came for me to wait around
On my own you come so softly
Softly go and leave me empty

Come inside to my apartment, in the scene or in between
What you said is what you meant and what you did was more than mean
If I should fall for this disgrace I'll try to sleep some other place
I do not like the look on your face in my mind I will come clean

Take me to a distant land past the point of all demands
Toss aside my wedding band tonight I am a single man
Is this the way it's gonna be, no thin disguise no mystery
Just kiss goodbye my history tonight you will have all of me.

wrong way

Written By: Tim Altman

You wanted me to write you a song
Just like every other girl in the world
I hope this is the kind of song you would like
I doubt you will ever think this is true.

I can't I can't say it in a nice way nice way
Blame it on a heartbreak heartbreak and throw it away
My babe, my babe does it all the hard way hard way
Does it all the wrong way, wrong way, what a mistake.

You didn't drive me wild you just drove me crazy
With intensity reminiscent of love
Too cold to take my hand or too damn lazy
Where's that world that we were dreaming of

You wait alone in your nice apartment
Too much rent and too much time on your hands
I bet you wish that you could talk to me but
No one's home you got no shoulder to cry on

I can't I can't say it in a nice way nice way
Blame it on a heartbreak heartbreak and throw it away
My babe, my babe does it all the hard way hard way
Does it all the wrong way, wrong way, what a mistake.

Did it ever cross your mind it was too damn easy
To go our separate ways and never regret
We cross the brink and you just can't see me
Water under the bridge is burning away

I can't I can't say it in a nice way nice way
Blame it on a heartbreak heartbreak and throw it away
My babe, my babe does it all the hard way hard way
Does it all the wrong way, wrong way, what a mistake.
