Bio

Blue Sacrifice started as an idea between father and son. Lynn Long the father and Thomas Long the son. Originally the idea was to create a blues band and play the music we both love and also to play it together. Thomas Long is a young, up and coming guitar player in the Cincinnati scene. His playing is way beyond his years and is considered a seasoned vet of the six string. Weened on jazz, blues, classic rock and classic country he is at home playing with fire and conviction - driving the raw low down and dirty groove of our show. We recruited bassist Steve Schmitt who is a veteran musician of Cincinnati and has played on the road and the local club scene for years. Next up was Cousin Dave Stayton. With his strong and soulful voice, equally strong harp playing along with his love of soul and blues, Cousin Dave is a perfect fit to front the band. Davy The Scotsman Philips was brought in to play second guitar to provide rhythm and to fatten up the sound. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland via San Francisco he landed in Cincinnati and has played for many years with a considerable number of great players and is a vital attachment to Blue Sacrifice. Lynn Long is the drummer and foundation of Blue Sacrifice. Always shakin' down the groove and making it all feel good. Lynn has played drums in many bands around town since age 15 and like the rest of the band played countless gigs and traveled many distances to do what he loves. Together these five elements that make up Blue Sacrifice are each different in their own regard but yet possess the love of the blues and together as a family and a band the product is nothing shy of extraordinary.
