"CD Tips for November 2004"

Translated from German to English

Bluesball - same

Bluesball play fine Blues skirt in completely large occupation. There there are mehrstimmigen singing, mad key boards and strong Gitarrensolos. Unfortunately only scarcely 40 minutes.
Alluding tip: "She's on A roll", "thesis Blues" and the Ode at Mudy Waters "You're the reason I got the Blues"

"Germany Review"

When I heard the sound files from this record first time at CD Baby, I was sure to by it. When I heard the complete CD first time at home, I was sure, that I fall in love with this wonderful rockin' blues music. There are so much feeling, joy, competence and hypnotic grooves in the music, that it is a great pleasure to hear this BLUESBALL-SOUNDS. To say for me, that there are some favourite tracks on the record, is not possible. Every composition is in class of his own and I love them all. - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

"CD Baby"

The CD is a hit and everyone who loves the blues should own one. - Joe

"Denmark Review"

Translated from German

Bluesball - Bluesball (2004) ****
With Chicago and Texas [Blues] Style, Southern Flavor (singerGuitarist Mel Eubanks and Lead guitarist Jamie Hunter originate both
from Thomasville in Georgia) and completely dezentem radio ESPRIT
waits this troop on its debut Bluesball - Bluesball (2003) up. Among the influences that volume rank beside artists such as Eric
Clapton, Robert Cray, Roy Buchanan and Stevie Ray Vaughan also Allman the Brothers, their former key man Johnny Neel here as a guest with all pieces the
key boards served and the total sound with marvelous organ and Piano
passages magnificently supplements. Great Southern Bluesguitar Feeling and the first candidate for the "CD
of the yearly" 2004!

ORIGINAL REVIEW

- www.southern-rock.de

Bio

When Mel Eubanks and Jamie Hunter ran into each other at a Nashville nightclub it had been over ten years since they had seen one another. When they decided to get together and jam the next weekend they had no idea what was about to happen. They started having so much fun trading guitar licks and pounding out old blues, rock, and r&b classics that they began experimenting with some new ideas. The experiment resulted in a scorching blend of Texas Blues, Chicago Blues, and Southern Rock. Bluesball draws from every musical influence they have ever had, and their debut CD serves up a full course meal of ten tasty originals. From the positive rocking “These Blues”, to the painful truth of “What Has Changed”, to the SRV tribute “Let Him Cry”, this album delivers from top to bottom and will quickly find a permanent home in your CD player!

Your feet can’t stop moving when Eubanks and Hunter hit the stage with Dan Hagar on drums and Jeff Offutt on bass. Hagar has been involved with numerous projects in a wide range of styles which has made him a very versatile drummer. Offutt is a veteran bass man that has worked with notable blues acts such as Chicago Charlie, Stan "The Man" Hedges, Doc Jones, and Pinetop Perkins. Their high energy sets include songs from your favorite Blues, R&B, and Soul artists. However, they often do not play the same tired old songs every other band plays, but they include a variety of crowd pleasing songs that listeners rarely get to hear bands cover!
