"Highlands 100.7 FM"

A very professionally played and produced album with tremendous vocals. This is a MUST album.
- Tony Bates, Victoria, Australia

"KCLC FM 89.1"

This is a keeper, Jamie sings well, and Iain on drums, with a bevy of talented musicians to keep the songs on the right path.
- Dusty Durst, Defiance, Missouri, USA

"Jazz Syndicate Radio"

Hi, Many thanks for providing me with the opportunity to hear "Baby's got the blues". Excellent album and consistent throughout! I've been playing the title track and "Crazy man blues" on my radio shows and they're getting a good response! Thanks again and all the best for 2006, Ginger Tony. - Anthony Farmer, Greenhithe, Kent, U.K

"Dutch Coast Radio"

It is as if the female singer entered the bar at a young age and never left it. A fantastic voice accompanied with a good instrumental makes this recording absolute a new entry for our playlist. Thanks for letting us know this cd. - Jacques Jongmans, Netherlands

"CJSR 88.5 FM - University of Alberta"

Very good! 10/10! EXCELLENT production quality! I will definitely forward this on for airplay! - Jason (Xu) Marzetti, Edmonton, AB, Canada

"The Kat & Eye Jukebox (www.live365.com)"

What a refreshing twist to the blues this music is. I think they'll go a long way, they certainly deserve to. I'm going to be adding these to the station playlist this week! - Kathryn May, Charleston, South Carolina, USA

"Nye Radio Larvik"

This is a really feelgood CD. It's mellow, and it just calls me back for more. All the time. I love this one! Christoffer, Still on a mission for the blues... - Christoffer Larson, Toröd, Norway

"Radio Gold Popular Network"

Cats and foxes, peacefully sleeping on the border of the night or running through the rhythm of a killing night, fronting the time and the space with calm strenght: these are the animals and the emotions coming out from the album Baby's Got the Blues when you put it on your player and let the music flow through the air. The cat is the vocal treatment by the group BLUES ELEMENT, full of black and white shadings. Fox is the rhythm, provided by a so good drum-bass-guitar interlacement, with an organ-piano base that's the right carpet to express the right refinement and beauty. Good arrangements and so good repertoire to reach our ears and our heart. - Scazzola Giovanni Pietrol, Italy

"Huon FM 95.3"

Baby's Got the Blues is an excellent release, I enjoy the B3 organ groove, the tight interplay of the guitars, the strong contemporary blues songs and the blues/jazz vocals of Jamie Browning. Favourite tracks are Baby's Got The Blues, C'mon, Crazy Man Blues, Not Thinking Of You and Hockey Strike Blues. Tracks played on air to date are Baby's Got the Blues and Crazy Man Blues. - David Milne, TAS - Australia

Bio

At the heart of Blues Element is the songwriting team of Jamie Browning and Iain Green. The songs keep pouring out... so they had to put a band together.

The New Album (as yet unnamed) features 12 new original jazzy/blues future standards written by vocalist Jamie & drummer Iain, and brought to life at Wellesley Sound in Toronto with the help of Kenmi Chank - guitar, Garfield Stoddart - guitar, Jason Wilson - piano, Rhodes and B3, Justin Snikkar - bass, Rebecca Campbell - background vocals, and Jeff McCulloch - Engineer. Mixing is just been completed at Silverbirch Productions with Ted Onyszczak, and a late summer release is planned.

In the meantime... Blues Element's 2005 release "Baby's Got the Blues" is currently on the air somewhere near you!

Recorded in the fall of 2004, this album brought together the incredible and diverse talents of some of the best players in Toronto's sprawling musical community including Alec Fraser, Rod Phillips, Michael Fonfara, Michael Keith, Dave Powell, Bryan Huntley, and Kenmi Chank.

Recorded and mixed at Liquid Toronto with blues maestro Alec Fraser (Jeff Healey, Jimmy Bowskill, Broken Joe) wearing the engineer and producer hats, "Baby's Got The Blues" was originally to include one cover song. That recording had to be put on the back burner due to an unsuccessful search to locate one of the publishers in order to obtain the licence to release it. Jamie and Iain may one day attempt the search again, but for now they've agreed that it's less trouble to write their own tunes.

All 10 tracks from Baby's Got The Blues are still receiving airplay on jazz and blues programs all over Europe, Australia and North America, as well as in a few spots in Indonesia, South America, Asia and the Middle East, and a big THANKS! goes out to all the djs and listeners all over the world for their continuing enthusiastic support.

Thanks to all the airplay, traffic to the Blues Element website has increased steadily, as have the sales of digital downloads. In 2006 Its Not You was included on the soundtrack of the feature film Chicknapping, and Jamie & Iain will be on the lookout for similar future opportunities.

Live Blues Element continues to be an evolving entity, but the live show always starts with a fun, sexy and very danceable mix of original tunes plus mid 20th century R&B, funk, blues, and jazz. Artists covered include Dinah Washington, Ruth Brown, James Brown, Louis Jordan, B.B. King, Robert Johnson and more.
