“One of the genuine rising blues stars in the Australian Blues scene”
Patrick Elliget-Pearl Magazine (The Peninsula Blues Report)

After 4 years sitting just below the radar, Melbourne’s fiery, blues/soul infused, reggae/roots inspired trio Jesse Valach & Blues Mountain, have finally succumbed to the requests of blues clubs and punters to release their aptly titled debut album “Jesse Valach presents Blues Mountain” and are now starting to attract the attention this band so richly deserve. Offering a wide array of authentic and mainstream contemporary blues, woven together with intense guitar, soulful vocals, tasty harmonica, and a driving groove orientated rhythm section, Blues Mountain go from lights down low soul ballads to energetic shuffle romps delivered in demanding fashion.

The trio first made a name for themselves honing their craft at local blues-jams and after being selected to perform on the “Unearthed Stage” at The Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival and Echuca Blues Festival by the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society their sound caught the rapt attention of everyone from the loyal traditional blues followers to the part-time blues listeners; from friendly young urban teens to seasoned musicians.

Song writer/Guitarist/Vocalist Jesse Valach said: “Dedication, hard work, and devotion are what have helped us produce a tight riveting live show and with the newly released album debuting at #3 on the Australian Radio Blues/Roots Airplay Charts and remaining there for two consecutive months is a testimony to that”. Produced by well known musician/masterer Anthony Norris (of The Black Sorrows & Stevie Paige fame) “Jesse Valach presents Blues Mountain” is a well flowed rhythm and lyric driven album that navigates all the soul of blues and life’s oddities, drawing inspiration from the likes of Keb ‘Mo, Steely Dan, John Mayer, Freddy King, and Geoff Achison.

Performing close to 100 shows this past year including The Rainbow Hotel, The Cornish Arms Hotel, The Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival, Echuca Blues Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, and the legendary Blues Train, Blues Mountain also enjoyed an 18 month weekly residency at The Customs House Hotel-Williamstown, they’re regular visitors to Bendigo with a monthly residence at The Gold Dust Lounge and are in the process of a planned Album-Launch, they will also be embarking on their first overseas tour in New Zealand which includes The Bay of Island Jazz and Blues Festival. From local blues jams to the international stage, Blues Mountain is a band whose star is indeed on the rise.
