Biography

Blues Riot is a blues-rock trio from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. The band consists of John on guitar and vocals, Kris on bass guitar, and Beth on drums. Together they take the soul and grit of the old blues, (Muddy Waters, Elmore James), the energy and swagger of classic blues-rock (The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival), and the rawness of the garage/punk blues (The White Stripes, The Black Keys) and mix it up to create their own blues based rock sound.

Lyrics

Hey, Blues

Written By: John Brennan

Hey, Welcome Back Blues
Hey, Welcome Back Blues
You've Been Gone So Long
You Must Have Heard The News
Welcome Back Blues

Hey, You're Just In Time
Hey, You're Just In Time
Well, My Luck's Ran Out
I'm About To Lose My Mind
You're Just In Time

Hey, What Can I Say
Hey, What Can I Say
You're No Stranger Here
You're Bound To Come My Way
What Can I Say

Bad Luck And A Worried Mind
I'm Feeling Bad Almost Everytime
Blue Feeling All Around Me
At Least I Got A Little Company, Yea

Hey, You're Just In Time
Hey, You're Just In Time
Well, My Luck's Ran Out
I'm About To Lose My Mind
You're Just In Time

Hey, Welcome Back Blues
Hey, Welcome Back Blues
You've Been Gone So Long You Must Have Heard The News

Hey, Hey, Blues
Hey, Hey, Blues
Hey, Hey, Blues

Stranger

Written By: John Brennan

When In A Crowd
I'm No Longer Standing Out
I'm A Stranger
I May Be Close
But I'm Still That Same Old Ghost
I'm A Stranger

Yes, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore
Yes, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore

When Walking By
I Don't Even See Your Eyes
I'm A Stranger
Now I Am Near
But You See That I'm Not Here
I'm A Stranger

Yea, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore
Yes, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore

No, You Should Not Talk To Me
No, You Should Not Talk To Me

No, You Should Not Talk To Me
No, You Should Not Talk To Me

When In A Crowd
I'm No Longer Standing Out
I'm A Stranger
I May Be Close
But I'm Still That Same Old Ghost
I'm A Stranger

Yes, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore
Yes, I'm A Stranger
And You Should Not Talk To Me Anymore

Rollin' Stone

Written By: McKinley Morganfield

Well I Wish I Was A Catfish
Swimming In A Whole Deep Blue Sea
I'd Have All You Good Looking Women Fishing...
Fishing After Me
Fishing After Me
Fishing After Me

Oh, Well...
Oh, Well...
Oh, Well...

I Went To My Baby's House
And I Sat Down On Right On Her Stairs
She Said Come In Now Baby You Know My
Husband Just Now Left
My Husband Just Now Left
My Husband Just Now Left

Oh, Well ...
Oh, Well...
Oh, Well...

Well My Mother Told My Father
Just Before I Was Born
She Said, "I Got A Boy Child Coming
He's Gonna Be
Gonna Be A Rollin' Stone
Gonna Be A Rollin' Stone
Sure Enough He's Gonna Be A Rollin' Stone"

Oh, Well He's A...
Oh, Well He's A...
Oh, Well I'm A...

Well I Feel, Yes I Feel
Like My Lowdown Time Ain't Long
Gonna Catch The First Thing Smoking Back...
Back Down The Road I'm Going
Back Down The Road I'm Going
Back Down The Road I'm Going

Mmm, Hmm...
Mmm, Hmm...
Mmm, Hmm...

Well I Wish I Was A Catfish
Swimming In A Whole Deep Blue Sea, Yea
I'd Have All You Good Looking Women Fishing...
Fishing After Me
Fishing After Me
Fishing After Me

Oh, Well I'm A...
Oh, Well I'm A...
Oh, Well I'm A...

Nothing To Lose

Written By: John Brennan and Kris Davis

I Once Had Some Money
Before I Lost It All
I Know It Sounds Real Funny
Because It's My Own Damn Fault

Now I Got Nothing
No I Got Nothing
When You Got Nothing At All
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose

I Once Had A Woman
Before She Went Away
She Ran Away And Left Me
She Felt She Should Not Stay

Now I Got Nothing
No I Got Nothing
When You Got Nothing At All
You Got Nothing To Lose

You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
You Got Nothing To Lose
