Bio

Blue Tulip consists of three award winning life long performing female musicians. Individually we have performed all across the United States and Canada and have come together to merge our jazz, blues, and island sounds into a truly unique experience. As seasoned performers we know how to provide either full entertainment or appear as background music as needed. Our sets include jazz, jazz-blues, and R&B standards with our own unique spin - songs everyone knows but with interesting twists of swing and latin. we normally appear as a trio but can add additional musicians to perform our 'baudy blues' act or a jazz standards act as needed. if needed we can also appear as a vocal duo with vocals and guitar.
The Musicians -
Lori Spencer - an award wining jazz guitarist who has appeared all over the U.S. as both a solo instrumental guitarist and with many well know bands. She has been identified as a 'notible' women of jazz by the jazz guitarist society and has won awards as the premier instrumentalist by regional event planners and has won national awards for the best jazz vocal duo for 2008,2009, and 2010. She has appeared in jazz festivals all over the U.S.
Austin Sapp - Austin started singing professionally in the late 60’s with the Bill Hanna Trio. She has performed with duos, trios, and large show bands along the East coast. Her continually expanding repertoire includes Blues, Jazz, Swing, Latin, and more. Her vocal style is a unique blend of numerous influences, resulting in an intriguing sound that leaves you wanting more.
Deborah Scott - Deborah has worked with very popular steel drum and calypso bands throughout the East Coast and Canada for decades. She has played with the Ladies First Jazz band, Chuck Mangione Big Band, Pieces of a Dream, and has opened for Mongo Santamaria and Lou Rawls.
