"Monterey Revisited"

“Johnny Edwards as The Man, was a sight to behold. Decked in an untucked orange shirt, slim fit black pants, pointy cowboy boots, and a floppy, wide-brim hat, the mocha-skinned, mustachioed Edwards didn’t have to crank a single whammy bar to make folks believe they were witnessing Jimi in the flesh”. But crank away he most certainly did (just like Jimi), first with a 15 minute, draining workout of the bluesy “Red House”
“Crosstown Traffic” “Foxy Lady” and 20 more classics followed. All were solid, enthusiastic replicas. If you were feeling nostalgic, you could call it Monterey revisited”.

Bio

This dynamic powerful trio delivers a soul-filled performance that leaves Hendrix fans feeling they’ve paid tribute to the legendary artist who has left one of the most inspiring catalogs of music ever.

Johnny Edwards, (guitar & vocals), an East Providence, RI based musician described by the New England Blues Society as “a guitarist who likes to play music that rips the guts out of his instrument and lays out a song like a cadaver on a cold, marble slab” bears a striking resemblance to the late guitar wizard, and “Blue Wild Gypsy” audiences are treated to an audio / visual experience.

The Blue Wild Gypsy show has more than achieved it’s goal of keeping the sounds, sights and spirit of the Jimi Hendrix "Experience" alive.
