Bio

Metal inspired groove guitar, a pounding beat, funk-rock bass, and vocabulary filled vocals are only some of the descriptive attributes of this band. Blunt Fiction’s early roots began when three Etobicoke musicians jammed several covers at a fundraiser. Guitarist “CC” Chris Creglia has been musically inspired and inspired by music his whole life. Playing in several successful local bands along with bassist Steven Kenny, there is no doubt that music for this duo has transformed from an unrealistic dream to an achievable career. After playing through more than four bands together with several drummers, the two decided to introduce friend and drummer Andrew Page into the mix. The three had all attended high school together and were very familiar with each other’s styles and talents. It was evident in their first few jam sessions that this band would be different from all their past experiences. After only four short months, they’d had written three killer tracks and had more in progress; all they needed was a front man. Daniel Lopes, a part time drummer, bassist, and piano player, was a high school friend whom the band had recognized significant singing potential within. Daniel’s “rock and roll” attitude in his everyday lifestyle was all they needed. The addition of Daniel gave the band a new look on stage, on their tracks, and immensely aided in their song writing: Thus Blunt Fiction was born. After establishing a secure lineup, the band’s productivity took off. Thus their music progressed with shattering results. Without haste, they recorded their first eight song album “ We’ll Kill For Oil” including singles such as “The Spins” and “La Lingua Morta.” Gigs had now became an integral part of Blunt Fiction’s success, playing various venues throughout the GTA and trying to establish their name as a dynamic band bent on keeping hard rock and roll alive. Blunt Fiction has a reputation for performing tightly, as well as being extremely energetic and maintaining a “Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll” attitude.
From an illegal, sold out show to more than six hundred people in an airplane hangar, or a Montreal New Year’s bash, Blunt Fiction will still continue to push their limits on stage and on their albums to impress not only fans, critics, and friends, but to also produce music that they themselves would rock out to.
