Streetwise and romantic in their retro-soul sound and conception, Ktone & Rey (collectively known as Blu Siid) have been blending spirit, rhythm, and harmony since birth. Their simple, yet beat-based songs have attracted an enthusiastic audience to date. Singing together since birth, Ktone (vocals) and Rey (vocals) have released this CD on their own. A product of Denver, Colorado (now Atlanta, Georgia transplants), this urban soul brother and sister duo is strongly influenced by classic soul, blues, and hip-hop. Favoring legends such as Nina Samone, Same Cooke, Johnnie Taylor, & Aretha Franklin, these inspirations are apparent in Blu Siid's lyrics, vocal arrangements and stage presence.
Blu Siid has been featured on collaborations by up and coming artists such as Don Blas, Kingdom Paradox, QBurse, & Bumpy Johnston; all of which are hometown
hip-hop legends. The duo has opened shows for Naughty By Nature, The Alkaholiks, and Keith Murray. They have performed in such venues as The Fox, Roxy and Blue Bird Theaters, making television appearances on UPN as well as numerous clubs and festivals.
Like few groups are able to do, Blu Siid is universal, appealing to both R&B and the mainstream alike. Dont Mind At All announces the arrival of breakout group Blu Siid. While Dont Mind At All has appeal as an R&B hit, Are U Alone has the flavor of an underground classic. Blu Siid turns this declaration into a modern day masterpiece. The songs catchy beat and lyrical melody fuse with the strength and cacophony of Blu Siids lyrics. The result is a song that is thought provoking and real, as well as radio friendly.
