My musical style leans torwards rock and pop. But my influences range from long past to the far future. You'll find a little bit of a lot of music in my collection of about 50 cds. I grew up on the beatles, simon&garfunkel, talking heads, pixies, smashing pumpkins, classical, rock, electronic, jazz and etc... But i don't usually write by trying to get a certain sound or style; i aim for a mood and i need to feel it and get hooked on it myself regardless of style or notes.
I write completely differently on the piano guitar and i'd like to think it helps keep me fresh. i have the typical skills that make me a good songwriter and maybe a few gifts, but i'm hoping my heart makes the most noise. I would never claim to be set apart from other people.
I don't know if i have specific vision for a new kind of music (if one even exists), but i see people reacting to music in a new way. Someday music might evolve away from the entertainment and escape it is, to awaken and preserve souls. But i guess we'll all just work on payin the bills until then. I know i have a lot of ideals and my music doesn't always catch up to them, so it's a good thing i love writing just for the hell of it..
