Biography

Bo Armstrong is a singer/songwriter from Dallas,Texas. A lifelong singer, Bo began developing his soulful voice at an early age in church and school choirs where he was exposed to an array of influences, gospel in particular. Continuing to draw upon these early musical experiences to define both his musical style and his musical ideology, Bo brings a new sense of powerful urgency to the acoustic rock scene. Like the music of his roots, Bo sings to what it means to be human in modern society. Pangs of loneliness, isolation, and regret hide underneath an uplifting sense of the shared human experience and ultimate redemption.

Summer of 2008 brought Bo to NYC to collaborate with British songwriter and producer, Nicholas Wright, in his Times Square studio - "The Cube." The first single from these NYC sessions, "The Jokes on Me," is slated for worldwide release in winter 2008 through Wright's record label, myNoise entertainment.

Lyrics

The Jokes on Me

Written By: Bo Armstrong/ Nicholas Wright

Verse 1
I’m giving up, the jokes on me, no one’s laughing anymore
What started out as innocent has gotten way off course
Somewhere along that long and crooked line my emotions began to shift
And I made the mistake of keeping on without changing a thing
It wasn’t fair but I didn’t seem to care because I wasn’t seeing the effects
I was somehow blind to the burden that was riding heavy on the back of your neck

Chorus:
I am going over this in my head
I’ll stay here waiting, contemplating right from wrong
And I won’t go until I’ve got it all sorted out
I don’t care if it takes for ever...

Verse 2

So Don't blame me for getting in the way of the places you're looking to go
I'm not some broken compass trying to guide you down a fool's road
If you'd only lift your head and go find another door
That's the only way you'll ever find what you're looking for.
Make your way to the clouds
and never come down
Dreaming and Scheming
with your feet off the ground

Chorus:
I am going over this in my head
I’ll stay here waiting, contemplating right from wrong
And I won’t go until I’ve got it all sorted out
I don’t care if it takes for ever...

And I won’t go until I’ve got it all sorted out
I don’t care if it takes for ever...

And I won’t go until I’ve got it all sorted out
I don’t care if it takes for ever...

And I won’t go until I’ve got it all sorted out
I don’t care if it takes for ever...
