"Graceful melody & honest lyricism"

From the moment he picks up his guitar until the last note fades, Bo Armstrong is dedicated to forging a bond with his listeners. And he does ever so gracefully. A sincerity permeates not only through his honest lyricism but through his passion to hold nothing back. "I've learned through song-writing that all people are strikingly similar and there are more ties that bind us together than you might ever expect," he says.

Shaped by the world around him, Armstrong has that rare ability to transform everyday experiences into beautifully crafted song, universalizing those personal experiences that most people bury. He welcomes listeners with raw, soulful vocals reminiscent of Ray LaMontagne, grounded by impeccable, playful guitar rhythms. With hooks that tug at the listener, Armstrong is not afraid to embrace the pop aspects of his writing. But his songs run much deeper than that and what reveals itself under those catchy hooks is meaningful and textured.

A native Texan, Bo Armstrong instinctively picked up the guitar at 16. Realizing that he had a message and a desire to convey that message has led him to where he is now: evolving and maturing as a sophisticated, passionate songwriter. His intimate performances have amassed an ever increasing following from the prep school he attended in Connecticut to his college in central New York. He continues to play various New York City venues, including the Knitting Factory and The Bitter End. With the ability to be grounded and inspired by that which is around him, there is no doubt that Armstrong will blossom and remain a creative musical force. - EBE Gazette

Bio

Bo Armstrong is a singer/songwriter from Dallas,Texas. A lifelong singer, Bo began developing his soulful voice at an early age in church and school choirs where he was exposed to an array of influences, gospel in particular. Continuing to draw upon these early musical experiences to define both his musical style and his musical ideology, Bo brings a new sense of powerful urgency to the acoustic rock scene. Like the music of his roots, Bo sings to what it means to be human in modern society. Pangs of loneliness, isolation, and regret hide underneath an uplifting sense of the shared human experience and ultimate redemption.

Summer of 2008 brought Bo to NYC to collaborate with British songwriter and producer, Nicholas Wright, in his Times Square studio - "The Cube." The first single from these NYC sessions, "The Jokes on Me," is slated for worldwide release in winter 2008 through Wright's record label, myNoise entertainment.
