Bio

Emerging from the unbridled contempt for the monotonous pop and rock music today, bob was formed to invade the senses with their own form of music that blends intensity and melody into a distinctively bizarre flavor that simply defines bob. The band rejects the idea of being branded, subjected to stereotype and wrapped up in an analogous package similar to how most label bands are dispensed and identified today.

The onset of bob's early history was initiated by guitarist Adam Smith and singer Matt Santoro who were close friends from way back. Adam has been playing guitar since the early age of 8 and Matt has been playing the bass for a number of years. The two decided that Matt be shifted to the vocals because of his ability to write and sing. A few drummers later, Michael Racelis a guy fresh from the Philippines, was recruited to play the percussions because of his unpredictable style in approaching Adam's creative music writing. Carl Schmieg, who has been playing bass with other local bands for 8 years, was then enlisted to provide the group with his driving and complimenting deep tones in the lower register.

While the band is continually sharpening and developing its own unique sound, bob is earning a fast-growing reputation for an inherent powerfully engaging, adrenalin-charged stage presence. Drawing freely from all types of genres including rock, metal, blues, jazz, rap and hip grooves, bob fails to neglect to maintain a pop sensibility. The impetus to the band's eclecticism is the individual members' diverse musical backgrounds and the hunger to explore how these different genres coalesce into what can simply be called The "bob sound".
